The Offer
- Denver Community Credit Union are offering a bonus of $100 for both parties when you are referred by an existing member. New member must complete the following requirements:
- Open a checking account with a debit card
- Make a one time $50 deposit into checking account

The Fine Print
- Valid through 10/3/2016 through 12/31/2016.
- For both the referrer and referee to earn $100 incentive, referee must become a member of Denver Community credit Union and open a Checking Account with a debit card, make a one-time $50 checking deposit (separate from the initial $25 share deposit), and make 10 debit card transactions (signature or credit only) within the first 30 days of membership opening.
- $100 incentive will be deposited into the referrer’s and referee’s Savings Account within 60 days of referee’s new membership opening.
- $100 bonus is subject to taxation.
- Referee cannot be a current member or joint-owner of a current Denver Community account.
- The new membership account , and the referring member’s account must be in good standing at the time of account validation in order for incentive to be dispersed.
- To qualify for Denver Community membership, one must live or work in Denver, Adams, Arapahoe, or Jefferson County, be a member of Consumers United Association, or be a family member of an existing member.
- All bank account bonuses are treated as income/interest and as such you have to pay taxes on them
Avoiding Fees
Their personal checking account comes with no monthly fee. According to their fee schedule there is a $25 early account termination fee if you close your account within 90 days of account.
Our Verdict
Feel free to share your referral links/details in the comments. This is a pretty good deal if there is no hard pull to open the account. I doubt you’ll be able to fund with a credit card as it looks like in branch opening is required. Probably won’t add it to our best checking sign up bonus page due to the fact we don’t have a lot of information about this bonus yet. As always, share your datapoints in the comments below.
Interestingly they also offer a mile high APY account, this account earns 5.28% APY. You need a checking account for this and every time you make a purchase using your debit card it’s rounded up to the nearest dollar and that difference is transferred into this account.
