Comenity Bank has sent their Saturday Night Live credit cardholdes a letter stating that their credit card accounts will be discontinued on March 31st, 2016. They will have until September 30th, 2016 to use any rewards they’ve currently earned. In addition to this they have stated that an exclusive event will be held for current cardholders to say thank you for their loyalty, with more details and official invitations coming soon.
I first heard of this card from PFDigest, where he explored what counted as an entertainment purchase (as these earned 4x points on Saturdays). I always thought it was weird that a show had their own credit card, it was obviously an experiment that didn’t really work out.

My friend works at Comenity and he said they signed SNL for bragging rights to use against their rival Synchrony. Expressing their ability to sign any client, even if there was little to no utility to gain from the partnership.
Haha, seems an odd thing to do. If your friend ever wants to talk, pass on my e-mail address. [email protected]
