Dunkin Donuts (DD) has two offers going on right now for those who signup to DD Perks, one is an advertised special and one unadvertised. These offers are, apparently, trying to combat all the press that Starbucks has been getting recently with their rewards program.
Advertised Offer
- Signup for DD Perks Rewards program and get a free drink – this is the standard signup offer
- Use promo code: STARS when signing up for 125 bonus points
- Also, get another free 125 points on your second visit when you pay with your Perks card, and another 125 points on your third visit when you pay with your Perks card
Each 200 points entitles you to a free drink of any size (more details below). After three DD visits, you’ll have 375 points – almost enough to get you two free drinks. Including the initial free drink for signing up, you’ll end up with a total of almost three free drinks.
The Fine Print
- Must signup between April 14 and April 21
- Must complete the three visits by May 31 to get the extra 125 x 2 bonus points
- Must pay with DD Card, either plastic card or via the app
Unadvertised Offer
- Do an initial load of $10 on a DD Perks card using promo code STARS (as above), pay with a Mastercard , and get a bonus $10 added to your account.
Numerous people on Slickdeals and Fatwallet have confirmed the existence of this offer (seems to be working for everyone), but it’s yet unadvertised.

DD Perks Rewards Details
TL;DR – Free drink per $40 in spend
DD Perks cards earn 5 points per dollar when they pay using an enrolled Dunkin’ Donuts Card, either plastic or via the Dunkin’ Mobile App. Once a member accrues 200 points, they get a coupon for a free beverage, any size.
DD Perks members also receive a coupon for a free beverage upon enrollment and on their birthday. Additionally, throughout the year DD Perks members receive exclusive, personalized, special offers to earn bonus points for specific food and beverage purchases. Dunkin’ Donuts’ CEO is quoted as saying that they’ll send out occasionally $5 gift cards to entice users.
Our Verdict
These are excellent offers for new Perks members, and I imagine anyone can start a new Perks account to take advantage of these offers.

BTW Chuck, not to be picky, buy DD does not use stars (that’s Starbucks) they use points.

as a DD vet, you actually have to go to a DD store, grab a few blank cards and do the signup online as a new acct. You also need a new email to get the drink coupon ( that is where you get the certificate for the free drink sent to). So you need 1)a new inactivated card from the store 2)a new email address if you did this before 3)pay 10.00 with mastercard. You will then have a 20.00 card and an emailed coupon for the free drink. Don’t know about the extra 125 points each visit.

I used citi dc mc and used promo code but I signed up through the app (that might be why?)

I did *not* get the initial 125 points for using code the code, though I did get the $10, and the first free drink, and offers for 125 on both second and third purchases (so a total of 250, enough for a second free drink).
I too did not get the initial 125 points but then it showed up about a day later for me, so I think you will get the points, its just for some reason back logged.
I just checked (about 8 hours later), and the 125 points have posted.
FI when a similar offer came along a few months ago, I was not able to use my credit card to load my gf’s DD account. Just heads up, names had to match.
