End Of Year Deadline: Redeem FlexPoints, Double Discover Bonus & Much Much More

We’re nearing the end of 2017, I hope everybody has had an amazing year. There are quite a few things I’d like to remind readers to do before the end of the year.

FlexPerks Points will be worth a flat 1.5¢ starting January 1st, 2018. Currently they are worth up to 2¢ so now might be a good time to try and find that last perfect redemption for any FlexPerks points you have.
Discover referral bonuses will go from $50 cash back to $50 statement credit. This difference is important because in your first year you get double cash back at the end of the year. Currently that means you’d get $50 at sign up and then another $50 at the end of your first year. Starting January 1st, 2018 next year you’ll only get the first $50 bonus. Keep in mind you’re allowed to have up to two Discover cards and they have also released their full 5% category schedule for next year.
Use your airline credits. Really you should have already done these, if you haven’t then I’d do so ASAP. Keep in mind if they are calendar year they need to post to your account before January 1st, 2018 to be eligible.
Spending limits reset. Blue cash cards spending limits for the bonus categories are based on a calendar year, so it might make sense to max these out in the next few days if you haven’t already and want to. This is also the same for ~~the Chase Ink cards~~ the Blue Business Plus card.
Deals expiring. A lot of deals are set to expire on December 31st, 2017. As always use the deal calendar to see a full list of expiry dates for all deals. Some of the more notable deals ending on December 31st:
