Four British Airways Lounges Join Priority Pass (EWR, SFO, SEA & IAD)

Four British Airways lounges in the US have joined the Priority Pass lounge network. These lounges are located in EWR, SFO, SEA, and IAD. Access is restricted to strict times (presumably when British Airways isn’t already using these lounges or they aren’t peak capacity):

  • San Francisco: 5am to 11.30am
  • Seattle: 5am to 10am
  • Washington Dulles:  6am to 2pm
  • New York Newark: 8am to 2pm

Priority Pass has a similar arrangement with Virgin Atlantic lounges as well.

If only PHL was on the list, I might actually consider dropping my AAdmirals Club membership.

So we have finally have a PP option at SFO for all AmEx PP holder that cannot use any PP restaurant? That’s great news, given how constantly overrun the SFO Cent Lounge is.

The situation isn’t much better than before.. The British lounge is in International terminal A, like the KLM/Air France lounge, what is available in PP since approximately forever now..

In any other terminal there are only restaurants not accessible with an AmEx PP, and there is no airside connection from A to any other terminal.

Hooray, now AA EXP’s can get turned away twice from the same lounge.

PP is terrible. What used to be an absurdly good perk has gone further and further south.

Maybe in the US. Even in many small airports, abroad it’s excellent.

In addition to the limited hours, the BA lounges at SEA and EWR are restricted to international flights only, which sucks if the first leg of your flight is domestic.

At least SEA has four other options for PP. EWR has nothing else but this.

Lack of priority pass lounge access is actually one of the reasons why I now actively avoid flying out of EWR.

What weird times to be open

They’re open later, but they don’t want PP customers clogging their lounge when customers flying BA are going to be there.

The big question is whether theyll be putting food out in the morning. Fingers crossed for the full English.

Wasn’t the IAD lounge already part of Priority Pass? Or did it leave and come back?

I think it has been. It is the only one open between 6:00 AM and 7:30 AM. I actually went this morning and found it to be pretty nice. Self serve wine, decent continental breakfast, and many juices.

In Dulles, Turkish and Air France open at 7:30am. Turkish is the best priority pass lounge anywhere.

Lufthansa and KAL (shared with KLM?) in IAD are also in Priority Pass. It seems like 90% of the flights leave from one terminal, but go to another for some peace and quiet.
