I’m bumping this post from this morning since I just did it myself and it was totally painless. It only took a minute and the $25 is already showing in my Dell Rewards balance. (Be sure to use same email with Alienware as your Dell account.) I’ve also updated the list below with more sub-$25 items. Personally I’ll just combine this with my $200 Dell purchase on Business Platinum in January when my credit resets.

I really hate Dell. Wasted an hour plus looking at what to buy. Finally saw H&R Block deluxe that I really needed and it was for the perfect price of $34.99 (1 cent less than the $35 rewards). Tried placing order twice but it keeps getting canceled. I havent bought anything from them in years so no clue what is going on here. Wondering if my account is flagged or something else?
I would think it’s probably because you’re only paying with reward money on an account not used in years. Just a guess and may be giving Dell too much credit to distinguish that.
I was finally able to get the text verification on 1/10 and surprised to see a $25 reward in the Alienware Arena account.
Then I enabled Dell Reward in my Dell account that has been around for a long time. (didn’t know it wasn’t automatic)
But the reward never showed up in the Dell account. So I contacted Alienware Support and they told me “unfortunately your account was created after the promotion ended”… Oh well. Anyway I acted too late so it was my fault but it was just free money that has a number of restrictions… so fine.
Anyone else able to purchase Xbox GC’s from Dell right now? When I click ‘add to cart’ it takes me to my cart, but without having actually adding the GC. Spoke w/ a rep who asked for page links to the GC’s and said she’d attempt to make a “quote” to send me via email that I could use to complete the purchase instead. After a few minutes she said the page links are showing as invalid when she attempts to submit the ‘quote’ request. She said because the links themselves still work as she could see, that she’ll escalate this issue to see whats up. Typical Dell nonsense.
Went through similar “alternate” order placement direct with agent while on phone, only to have it cancelled later. This was two yrs ago. I think the phone sales people aren’t told anything regarding this, hence we get a wide spectrum of answers and attempts.
