Southwest has just upped the sign up bonus to 2,500 points. You need 3,000 points for a $25 gift card. The first 2,000 sign up points post immediately after creating your account. This means you’ll need an extra 1,000 points to earn a $25 gift card. Here is how to get them.

You’ll need to have never had a Southwest Rapids Rewards Account and you’ll also need a friend who has never had a Southwest Rapids Rewards Account.

• Both sign up using this promotional link
• Have your friend transfer you 1,000 of their points
  • Click “Rapid Rewards” in the far right of the header, then click “Buy, Gift, Transfer Points” in the drop down menu
  • Click “Transfer points” second option down

• Redeem your 3,000 points for a $25 gift card
  • Click “Rapid Rewards” in the far right of the header, then click “Redeem at More Rewards” in the drop down menu
  • Click “Gift Cards”
  • Choose the gift card you want
