- Hertz & CLEAR have announced a new partnership. As part of the partnership Hertz rewards members will receive free membership. The membership you receive will vary based on your Hertz elite status:
- Hertz Platinum = 6 months of CLEAR
- Hertz President’s Circle = 4 months of CLEAR
- Hertz Five Star = 2 months of CLEAR
- Hertz Gold = 1 month of CLEAR
Our Verdict
It looks like Hertz will also be using the CLEAR technology to make it possible to scan your face to check out using the fast lane.
The nice thing about the free CLEAR membership is that it seems to work even if you’ve had a free membership elsewhere before. This means you should do the TripIt deal for four months free first, then this Hertz deal. It looks like the Hertz deals also just adds the additional months onto your current membership so that’s nice.

This is an old post, but does link hertz to clear still give you additional months on top of the current free months? I just linked my hertz account, but it does not seem to extend my trial end date. Any one has experience? Thanks!
I was not successful in stacking the tripit and Hertz trials.
Was anyone ever actually able to stack trials?
I was just trying to sign up for a new account with the trial this morning at SFO. No dice. Once fingerprints were scanned, the system recognize that I was a former member. New enrollment is not possible per the lady helping me. System did offer me to pay $99 per year.
I was able to do the 6 month trial with CLEARFD9223 and then do the Hertz trial discussed above just after the first six month trial expired. There is a business insider two month trial with “INSIDER.” I may try it once the Hertz trial expires. I am curious whether anyone was able to do the Tripit trial for 4 months and then the 6 month trial with CLEARFD9223?
Reminder when inputting a credit card, may want to use Virtual #’s or ShopSafe from BofA. After the initial auth you can close that credit line to ensure Clear doesn’t charge you after the 4 month free trial. Love doing this as a backup in case I don’t cancel in time or the company tries to charge me anyway.
Called in and got my 4 months of TripIt pro membership. Will try to add Hertz Prez Circle months in the spring, but sounds like we actually need to complete a Hertz rental first. Thanks DoC!

When you put the code in to the promo box, it applies the free 6 months. Just signed up using this code.
What happens to paid accounts? Free four months? Or nothing?
Platinum? I thought the highest level is Presidents Circle.. first time to learn they have a Platinum level..
Hertz Platinum is a status that is either gifted to C-Suite Execs who do business with Hertz, or really high spenders.
