Update: Seems like only the Firefox browser is working to do this offer. Other browsers get error message.

- Home Chef teamed up with American Express to offer 2,000 Membership Rewards points on each of your first 4 orders.
The Fine Print
Offer only valid for select U.S. American Express Card Members with a Card enrolled in the Membership Rewards® program (‘Eligible Card Members’). Card Members who have only a Corporate Card enrolled in the Membership Rewards program or whose Corporate Card is enrolled in the Corporate Membership Rewards program are not Eligible Card Members. Eligible Card Members who have never ordered from https://www.homechef.com will receive 2,000 Additional Membership Rewards® points when they log in using their American Express online account credentials on their first Home Chef Box order made on https://www.homechef.com (a “First Order”). In addition, Eligible Card Members who make up to three additional Home Chef Box orders after making a First Order will receive 2,000 Additional Membership Rewards® points per Home Chef Box order, with a maximum of 8,000 Additional Membership Rewards® points made on https://www.homechef.com. Eligible Card Members must use their enrolled Card at checkout to receive the additional points. Offer does not apply to customers using Google Wallet, Paypal or Venmo. Points will be awarded within 8 to 12 weeks after receipt by American Express of the eligible purchase information. Purchases may fall outside of the offer period in some cases due to a delay in merchants submitting transactions to American Express. If American Express does not receive information that identifies your transaction as eligible for the offer, you will not receive the additional points.
New customers only. Additional Membership Rewards points will be awarded for First Orders and up to three additional Home Chef Box orders by any Additional Card Member on the Eligible Card Member’s Card account, provided the Additional Card Member charges such orders to the Additional Card. May not be combined with other offers. May not be used for gift cards. Not redeemable for cash. Not eligible in all states. Shipping available in the contiguous U.S. only. The shipping policy and general Terms & Conditions applicable to all https://www.homechef.com orders can be found at https://www.homechef.com/terms
Our Verdict
This is only for new members joining the first time. There’s no mention of saving the offer, apparently you just use an AmEx Membership Rewards card and the AmEx system will automatically detect the order and add the points (?).
Looks like this should stack with the offer to get $50 back on $50 purchase with the AmEx Platinum card that a lot of people have. That one works for three orders of $50 each, so you should be able to order via the AmEx link, above, and get an extra 6,000 points too, I’d think. Might be able to stack this with a promo code or the military discount too.
Note: you can alternatively go through Swagbucks on the first order and get $35 currently. Swagbucks is also showing discounts on the first 4 orders ($30, $30, $15, $15). My guess is that Swagbucks these discounts won’t stack with the AmEx landing page offer. Possibly the Swagbucks $35 portal offer will track if you click through and then navigate to the AmEx page, but the subsequent discounts might not stack, so you’re likely getting the 2,000 points in place of those discounts.
I haven’t tried out these stacks, it’s just speculation. Please comment below what works and what does not.
Hat tip to reader Will
The only web browser that works is Firefox. Give me thumbs up, everyone.
Tried on Firefox and nothing.
Thanks! I couldn’t get the AMEX points thing to work on any other browsers and Firefox did.
I am seeing 20% off on Chase Sapphire Reserve, may be stackable.
I am trying to sign up for 8000 points but while creating accounts says, you already have account thru points.com. Points.com automatically sent me a passcode but says expired. I think all the doors are shut for this offer of 8000 MRs.
I am using firefox.
What makes you think logging in with points.com would disqualify you from the bonus MR?
The passcode that points’ on is sending is not working. Points. Com does not have Amex as their partner so I am confused. Chatted with points and they said I have resolve this with Amex.
Did it work for you?
How long does it take after receiving the Home Chef “your 2000 MR points have been deposited” email for them to appear in your Amex account? My first delivery was Tuesday, I received the email on Wednesday, and now it’s Saturday and I still don’t see the points in my MR account.
any update with this? Thanks.
Steven Yes. The first 2000 points never automatically posted even though the second and third ones posted fine (same day as the emails, I think). Took a couple calls to Home Chef and Amex, but eventually Amex gave me the 2000 points. Home Chef said they sent the points info to Amex, Amex claims to have never received them, but eventually Amex gave me the points, maybe more as a courtesy than because they could actually see that I was supposed to get them.
Thanks so much for the dp and reply. Avi
Is the $50 credit getting triggered by gift card purchase on Home Chef website?
I signed up with my iPhone (at checkout, it indicated the 2KMR applied) and I didn’t get the 2KMRs after my first delivery. Yesterday, I sent a msg via the Home Chef account and this morning I received my 2KMRs.
Today, I just got an email from Home Chef inquiring about my missing 2KMRs. This leads me to think I received the MRs two days after I received my first box and had nothing to do with the Home Check messaging.
Must log in using their American Express online account credentials ? Does that mean it works like linked bank account?
I can confirm this stacks at least for the first order. I got my Home Chef $50 credit on my Platinum yesterday and about an hour ago I got an email saying I earned 2k for my first order from Home Chef. I also see I have a 10% discount for my next order.
kept getting card decline i wonder if it was because i had an account from long ago
The 50% discount with ID.me won’t stack with this offer. It says only 1 discount code can be used.
Please Delete. Thanks!
