I Already Have The Wyndham Card, Will I Receive The New 15,000 Point Anniversary Bonus?

Update: The information provided by Barclaycard was incorrect, read more about this here and what your best course of action is.

I already have the Wyndham credit card that has an annual fee of $69. When I signed up for the card it came with an anniversary bonus of 5,500 points which was enough for one free night at a Tier 1 property with Wyndham. Their new rewards program is a flat 15,000 points for all properties and the card now comes with 15,000 anniversary points. As an existing cardholder will I also receive 15,000 anniversary points or only 5,500?

I contacted the Wyndham media department directly about this question and this was their response:

Existing annual fee cardholders who are currently earning 5,500 anniversary bonus points will be upgraded to 15,000 anniversary points.

If you’re an existing cardholder, there isn’t anything you need to do you’ll automatically start receiving the 15,000 anniversary bonus points. This is a pretty good deal as it’ll mean that you can now get one night at any Wyndham property for $69, it’s not quite as good as the Chase IHG deal (free night for $49 annual fee) but it’s pretty damn close. As always the best hotel credit card offers can be viewed here.
