[Payout] [IL] Google Photos $100 Million Class Action Settlement ($200-$400 Per Claim)

This has now paid out, $95 according to the comments.

Google Photos has agreed to settled a class action lawsuit but has denied any wrong doing. The lawsuit alleged that Google broke Illinois Biometric Information Privacy Act, 740 ILCS 14/1, et seq. (“BIPA”) by collecting data used in Face Grouping.

You’re eligible if  at any time between may 1, 2015 and April 25, 2022, you appeared in a photograph in google photos while you were an Illinois resident. Even if you don’t personally use Google Photos chances are that somebody you know who has taken a picture of you does and thus you’re also eligible.  If you’re eligible then you have until September 24, 2022. The settlement pool is $100 million and it’s expected to pay out $200 to $400 per claim.
