Avoiding Fees
Monthly Fees
This account has no monthly fees to worry about.
Early Account Termination Fee
Accounts closed within 6 months of opening date are subject to a $25.00 closing fee
Our Verdict
Account also offers 2% APY, this is not attractive as there are better high yield accounts available. We also recently saw a bonus of $250 with basically the same requirements, because of that I would hold off on this bonus for now and hope that bigger offer returns. I won’t be adding this to our list of the best checking bonuses.

Title should say “In Branch Only”
“Offer not available for … accounts opened online”
Updated, thanks
Chex sensitive. Denied.
My first ChexSystems denial. I’m at 19 accounts in the past 12 months and 24 in the past 24, so I’m surprised it took that long. I had another instance where a CU denied me online but were happy to open the account in person. In this case, they approved my account, and sent trial deposits, but then sent me a form letter denying me after manual review.
Acceleration Checking is the most attractive account, and the ETF is only $25, not $75.
When I click on the offer link, I see no mention of the $200 bonus although the required qualifications to earn the bonus and effective dates are shown. Where is the amount of the bonus shown?
If you go back to their home page, you have to click on a link that says “Get $200” to get to the page linked in this post.
I am guessing they ARE ChexSystems sensitive because I opened an account with them late last year ($250 bonus then) and registered for online access, etc. and was subsequently denied after their “review”. YMMV.
How many accounts in the last 12/24 months
Maybe 10/24 more or less, but a couple of those worked the same way; opened online, then closed by the banks after all of the info, test dep, etc. I’m sure those accounts are also counted on the ChexSystem description. It’s not at all accurate.
