The Offer
Check your Kroger coupons for the following offers:
- Save the digital coupon to get 4x fuel points on participating third-party gift cards.
- Save the digital coupon to get 4x fuel points on Visa and Mastercard fixed-value gift cards.
- Some people are seeing another coupons as well: Get 200 bonus fuel points when you buy any fixed-denomination Visa or Mastercard gift card. Expires 5/13.
Some people might also have discounted gift card coupons saved in their coupons which will stack nicely with this.
The standard deal at Kroger is 2x fuel points on gift card purchases, and they’ll occasionally release offers for 4x.
The Fine Print
- Valid this weekend – Friday, Saturday, and Sunday (5/11-5/13).
- Fuel points earned in May will be valid through the end of June.
- Usually, every 1000 fuel points will get you a discount of $1 per gallon with a 35-gallon limit, a max value of $35 per 1000-points, though these details do vary by store and region.
Our Verdict
I figure people like a headsup on these kinds of deals. We’ll repost Friday. It also times nicely because Kroger is running a summer-long coupon to get double points on groceries when shopping on the weekend.
Between the two coupons, you can hopefully get an unlimited 4x fuel points on all gift cards with the exception of Kroger gift cards, Amex gift cards, and variable-load Visa/MC/Amex gift cards. Note, the 3rd-party offer states “participating gift cards,” I believe that typically means it works on all third-party cards.
Grocery purchases made this quarter can get 5% back with Chase Freedom and Discover IT cards as part of the quarterly categories.

yes Kroger is grocery store and grocery store is 5x this quarter… groceries are 5x at both Chase Freedom AND Discover… i’ll be maxing out each weekend to get some points and more importantly… CHEAP GAS!!! was SO NICE to pay $1.59 for $2.59 gas!!!!
you can save a max $1.00 per gallon on gas… my Ford Expedition takes 20 gallons a week… that’s a bonus $80 in savings per month!!
1) buy 2x $100 amazon GCs = 800 FPs at Fred Meyer.
2) load to amazon
3) buy 2x $100 safeway gift cards on amazon
4) use safeway gift card against 2 $500 VGCs, combined with a good grocery CC. (Not officially allowed but works fine when the cashiers dont care)
5) buy MO with VGC, deposit MO, Rinse, Repeat
Basically a way to get discounted gas with no additional outlay (assuming you’re already MSing with VGC anyway)
you will still need to pay the activation fee on the vgc/mgc, which is $5.95, so if buying $100 vgc, ts like paying $5.95 for $0.40 fuel savings
We always use these fixed $100 VGC on non category spend such as utilities, Costco, Insurance copays, ect.
Just bought the Sephora gift cards, had the following coupons which all stacked, $10 off 3X$15 = $30 + 200pt fuel coupon+ 120pt for 4xgift cards.
Not sure if this would work or not but it seems like it should. Can you buy the Visa/MC GC with your regular payment method, earn 400 pts on $100 spent; then turn around and buy 3rd party GC off the rack with the Visa/MC GC and earn another 400 pts on that same $100? Am I stating the obvious or am I missing something? That would net a $28 kick back @ a redeem rate of 800 pts being valued @ .80 on 35 gallons.
I don’t see why not… it’s worth a shot… they cant turn down a gift card that they just sold you… gas is getting expensive… not a bad way to rack up bonus points… I’d rather buy a vgc and then use the vgc to buy another vgc…
I did this and netted 1000 fuel points. I will get $35 saved via fuel rebates. I fuel two cars and 3 gas cans in one transaction

There are also Kroger digital coupons for $5 off movie gift cards when you buy 2 or more, and the total is $50 or more. Hopefully these will stack.
Last go-around I didn’t get 4x on all transactions. This may be limited to one transaction per person now? (Fred Meyer here).
