Our Verdict
Limit of 1 is a bit annoying, but still a good deal. You don’t earn fuel points on the variable load cards. As always make sure to use a credit card that earns at a high rate on grocery store purchases.

Not seeing this in my Kroger account.
Actually you can *sonetimes* earn fuel points on variable gift card purchases. It is through activation of a separate digital coupon that offers a flat 200 fuel points on a variable GC purchase. It does stack with the $4.95 discount. Not a deal maker or breaker, just a little sweetener if you go that route. YMMV.
I do not see it on any of my Kroger accounts here in Houston area.
No luck in Idaho. I used the offer a few weeks ago. Either this one is targeted or not offered to those that hit the previous VGC deal.
Hard to find this one in Fred Meyer coupons. I did a “search” for VISA and it came up, but wasn’t listed under ‘gift card’ or ‘other’ section as is typical.
Not there for me. City market in Colorado.
For those not seeing the coupon, did you use the similar coupon 2-3 weeks ago? Wondering if taking advantage of that last one means you don’t get this one.
I used it a few weeks ago and got it again on my account. Nothing on P2, who also used it a few weeks ago

I did use the previous coupon 2-3 weeks ago at a Mariano’s in Chicago. I do not see the coupon on either the Mariano’s or Food4Less portals.
I used the coupon 2-3 weeks ago and the new one was in my account this morning.
Just signed up today for new account. No such gift card appears.
If you have the 10% off Grocery Stores boost on your Cash app, use it to pay for $75 of a $500 card (immediate $7.50 off), and then pay for the rest as you normally would–hopefully a card with high supermarket cash back.
(Cash boosts reset every Friday around 11 AM ET, so if you don’t have that boost… wait a couple of days.)
I’m not familiar with doing split payments when purchasing VGCs. Can you provide a little more detail? Is it available on self-checkout?

I’ve had no problem doing it in self-checkout. Just go to the attendant and tell them that you want to split tender.
ALSO, keep in mind that some Kroger’s (the big ones, like Fred Meyers) will not code as grocery on AMEX

True. Found out the hard way when I tried to apply some large purchases at Fred Meyer on my Amex Bonvoy card and it’s showing up as Merchandise & Supplies – Wholesale Stores in Amex, but used my CSR VISA and this is showing up as Groceries. I don’t understand why the same store would have a different category/merchant code for Visa vs Amex.
