Last Chance to Take Advantage of Amex Platinum WeWork Benefit by December 31st (Lock in Full Year Membership Now)

Around a year ago, American Express business Platinum card increased their annual fee and added a few benefits, including a one-year membership to WeWork work-sharing spaces. We advised not signing up immediately if you won’t be using it right away since it’s a one-time benefit.

Well, they subsequently announced that the benefit will no longer be available beginning in 2020. BUT if you signup by December 31st, you’ll get a full year of membership.

So the next few weeks is your last chance to enroll. If you see yourself making use of this during the coming year, it’s worth enrolling now since you won’t be able to enroll once January arrives.

Signup Here

Some people might even want to sign up for the Platinum business card to get this benefit, depending on how you value it (Amex pegs it at $2,700). I don’t see it being offered at the public signup link, but it might still be there in practice, just not advertised. Let us know if you recently signed up for the card and are able to enroll. There might also be other links that still show the WeWork benefit.

Is there any point to claiming this benefit if you don’t have a location local to you?

I don’t see the point unless you travel a lot to the same area and need a place to work, but it’s not gonna hurt you either way since its free.

Did anyone recently apply for this card? I’ve been considering signing up for a co-working space and 550 a year is the cheapest price I’ve seen yet.

If I sign up now and closed the card in January, I still keep the benifit?

According to the WeWork signup page, yes you could lose it, but who knows how well linked their systems are.

No, you will lose your access if you close your account. It usually takes around 30 days for WeWork to deactivate your account.

does anyone know of way to take advantage of this so that someone else can use the wework benefit? say my player 2 gets the card, is there any way for them to sign up for the wework benefit so that i can use it?

You can try but it might be difficult. When you go to WeWork for the first time, they take a picture of you so that when you sign in each day, they see who you are. Not sure if they always look at the monitor when you check in so be aware of the risk.

Useless feature for most, maybe valuable to a few but with limited locations and space availability, this is a useless perk….Unless thew would reimburse $2700 to all Business Platinum cardholders who would or not be able to use this feature…..Not a hot feature/card perk to get or retain the card for additional year(s)

Not useless at all for some of us. I’m in LA and go 3-4 days a week without any issues.

Just got an “Open a 2nd Business Platinum” offer in the mail with a welcome offer code for a 50K-for-$10K spend or 75K-for-$20K spend, so I grabbed it and will be signing up for the benefit before year’s end. (Not the best welcome offer ever, but no lifetime langage, so I figured it was better than no welcome offer.) Will post results.

Did u use same business name/details as in first card?

Yes I did. It was very clearly pitched to me as a special offer to open a second card with a second welcome bonus for the same business, with incentives like “double the airline credits, double the limits on 35% rebate and 1.5x charges, and track expenses separately.” Surprising mailer.
