Our Verdict
We reported earlier today that the bonus for the referrer on the business Platinum card has increased from 15k to 20k, and they’ve now increased the signup bonus for the new member as well.
Standard offer on the card is 75k on $20k spend ($10k+$10k), this offer requires an additional $5,000 in spend and gets an extra 25,000 points. We have seen similar offers in the past. If you’re in 2-player mode or have a friend who can refer you, this is really a nice offer, though there is the steep spend requirement.
There’s also the call-in method which offers (YMMV) 100,000 points on just $10,000 in spend. This offer gets an extra 20,000 points for the referrer, though many would consider the call-in offer superior due to lower spend requirement. As always you can read more about American Express cards here.

Hmm this is cutting it close on the triple dip of the credits, plus the spend requirement is huge. Tough call.

Called AmEx today to discuss offers for Biz Plat. I’m not (and have never been) an AmEx customer.
Despite the given high income and spend numbers, the CSR said the best offer they have available is the 50K/$10K + 50K/$15K two-part SUB.
This is the same as the public offer – in some cases it’s actually worse because there’s an incognito SUB for 110K MR with $25K spend.
I tried to haggle and had an overall friendly call with the CSR but no dice. He said the 150K MR for $15K spend offer was officially killed six months ago and as of a few weeks ago they aren’t matching past offers anymore. Granted, I didn’t ask for a supervisor or anything like that.
It was “take it or leave it”, I didn’t apply. Even the better 110K MR for $25K spend isn’t a great ROI, IMO.
