American Express Business Platinum 100,000 Points Signup Bonus Offer With $25,000 Spend (Public & Referral Offer)

Update 12/3/19: A lot of blogs with affiliate links are stating this offer will end 12/3 or 12/4. Check for the much better 110,000 point offer.

Update(b) 9/5/19: A lot of people are seeing 110,000 offer incognito.

Update 9/5/19: Offer is now available through public links as well. (Direct Link to offer.) Of course, it’s smarter to use a friend’s referral link so that they’ll get a bonus too. Referral offer is good through September 25, 2019; according to DDG, the public offer is slated to last until 12/4/19; it’s possible the referral offer will be extended as well.

Our Verdict

We reported earlier today that the bonus for the referrer on the business Platinum card has increased from 15k to 20k, and they’ve now increased the signup bonus for the new member as well.

Standard offer on the card is 75k on $20k spend ($10k+$10k), this offer requires an additional $5,000 in spend and gets an extra 25,000 points. We have seen similar offers in the past. If you’re in 2-player mode or have a friend who can refer you, this is really a nice offer, though there is the steep spend requirement.

There’s also the call-in method which offers (YMMV) 100,000 points on just $10,000 in spend. This offer gets an extra 20,000 points for the referrer, though many would consider the call-in offer superior due to lower spend requirement. As always you can read more about American Express cards here.

Do not leave referrals in the comments. We may make a separate thread for that.

I fail to see how is this a nice offer, $25k spend has a huge opportunity cost.

More like an ongoing 4 MR / $ spend if you’re a volume spender.

Hmm been mulling a kitchen remodel via IKEA (they have an extra 10%-20% off every July for cabinets and sale other times of the year) this might be one organic way to meet spend. if you google IKEA kitchen sale if your considering this as lots of tips to save the most money and headaches.

Bleh, this is the referral offer now. Just yesterday I got a popup saying I could refer for 75K $5+$5 that I was going to use. Maybe I imagined it.

nah, $25k is lots of spend; will call in as Chuck suggested near EOY; if get approved then, will try to squeeze in 3 airlines credits

I’m trying to figure out if this is worth P2 applying for. Thinking out loud on the numbers here:

$5059.50x5x1.5 == 38k points
gold referral == 10k points
$200×2 airline == $360
SUB == 100k points
Fee == -$595
(access to 20k referrals)
——————————–
148k points for a cost of $235
148k points cashed out through Schwab is $1850

I might end up going for this.

Your math doesn’t add up here…5059.50×1.5 is about 7.6k points. Did you mean 25k x 1.5 = almost 38k points?

I didn’t format it very well but yeah I did mean 5 purchases of $5k+ each. 5059.50 is the price for 10x Gift Cards

other than SM, where or which store(s) can one buy 10 VGCs or $5k in 1 trxn nowadays?

went to more than 1 WM earlier this yr, but got declined for $5k in 1 trxn

Airline GC ATM are dead – unless something has changed in last day or two –
You still have the Dell $200/$300 credit.

Access to 20K referral – do you know a work around for more than a few uses?

too much to spend….

Lol! I got 100k MR for $10k spend a year ago

Ditto. Which I consider a good offer. 25k spend is just way too much.

Has anyone had recent success calling in for the $10K offer for 100K points? I’ve tried several times several months back (albeit not recently) and have never been able to get it.

No WeWork on this offer? That benefit still shows on a public 75k MR offer.

Now that buying airline gift cards has been nixed for the incidental credit, the value of this cards is much lower for me.

Depending on how you value points and benefits, it’s pretty UNDER-whelming.

100,000MR points at 1cpp = 1,000
-595AF
= +405
= +1.6% return on spend

By comparison, you can get +2% return on the Blue business card with $0 AF. And also not burdened by a stiff 25k spend requirement.

In all honesty, it should be more like 300,000MR pts for 25k spend to get around a +10% return. Or maybe 150,000pts and airline status with your choice of AA, Delta, or United.

You’re calculation is off bud. You’re not taking into account the $200 airline credit, $200 dell credit, 35% bonus in MR back if you choose your preferred airline or J/F ticket (huge!), etc. Additionally, I value MR points at least $0.02. Yes, high spend requirement but this card isn’t targeted for the regular Joe. This is what some people in this group fail to see. This card is for real businesses, not for someone who’s trying to MS the spend to just get the bonus or puts very little spend on the card. To think people in this group are smarter than a company like Amex is crazy talk!

Agreed AND I get great offers on this card too. I’m not going to keep mine though. The AF is too damn high.

OK, playing along with your values & benefits of everything at the absolute max, it’s a return on spend of 10.02% — with a degree of difficulty you confess is quite high. There are cards that get 35% or higher that are very easy to meet. But yes, you’re the ONLY smart person in the world. Mr. Big Man. No one else compares to your greatness. You do “big business” and everyone else is “not valid.” Got it. Don’t break your arm patting yourself on the back too much. Happy holidays. By the way, my “dumb” self got the same 100k offer for only 10k spend with all the same benefits including WeWork. But that’s just more “crazy talk” from an “Average Joe.” Using your same valuations, the return would be +31% thanks to the lower spend requirement. In my humble world, I’m happy with the +17% value I feel I got from my offer.
