- All bank account bonuses are treated as income/interest and as such you have to pay taxes on them
Avoiding Fees
Easiest account to keep fee free is the Commerce-On-The-Go Checking account. You neeed a minimum $5,000 average daily balance to avoid the $5 monthly fee, you must also be enrolled in Online Bankng & receive eDocuments.
I wasn’t able to find the fee schedule so I’m unsure if there is an early account termination fee or not.
Our Verdict
Requirements for the bonus and to keep the account fee free are much too high to realistically consider, especially when there are so many other bonuses that are better value. If anybody does decide to give this one a go, please make sure to let us know if it’s a hard or soft pull to open and if you can fund with a credit card.
