Marriott 50% Elite Night Credits Now Posting

In June Marriott announced that most properties would be offering off peak pricing through July 31st and that elite members would receive 50% elite night credits based on their 2019 status. Many Marriott loyalty members are now seeing those 50% elite night credits posting to their account (remember it’s 50% of the status you earned, not total nights). I suspect this won’t affect too many people as status has already been extended through February 2022 but for those trying to earn a higher tier status this is now easier to do so. Some people are still waiting for their nights to post.

I am thinking of applying for both personal and business US to earn the 30 elite nights but I am outside the USA presently and may not be able to pick up my mail for quite some time

Any DP regarding elite nights posting timeframe? And will the card need to be activated or used for any purchases so that the elite nights will post?

Thanks

Wow! I am LIFETIME Titanium, and I had very few stays last year (2019), but I earned Lifetime Titanium in 2018 (the last year you could), and 38 Elite Nights just posted to my account, and combined with 15 nights from two credit cards (Chase personal and business Marriott cards) and a few stays, that got me over 70.

So even though I don’t need these nights for elite status since I already have the top Lifetime Status, there are extra benefits one gets at 50 nights and at 75 nights, and I looks like I’ll qualify for both of those this year, even though I qualified for neither of them last year!

I was a Titanium Elite in 2019 and received my 38 nights today. I crossed over the 50 night mark for the Platinum Elite benefit but I haven’t been able to access ths benefit selection site / page yet.

11 nights away from Lifetime Platinum Elite.👍

I have Gold from Amex Plat and made a stay last weekend. Just checked and the 13 nights are there.

Ok, I got 5 nights as silver(I had 15 ENCs from my amex credit card). I guess Marriott calculates the ENC based on how many ENC you had last year rather than your status.

When did you get your Amex Platinum and when did you Gold from it? Perhaps that matters? Elise just above posted about earning 13 nights on Gold from Amex Plat, and that sounds right. And I just posted above about earning based on my Lifetime Titanium status, not based on my annual status or actual nights. So are you sure you were Gold and not just Silver in 2019?

Will those who are Marriott Gold through Amex Platinum get the 13 Elite Night Credits? I did recently downgrade my Amex Platinum card to Gold — as during this time of restricted travel the gold card’s supermarket and restaurant bonuses are more useful than the Platinum’s airline bonuses, plus the continuing closure of Centurion Lounges eliminates my favorite thing about the Plat card — but all throughout 2019 I was Marriott Gold (b/c of Ax Plat). If I were to get the 13 Elite Night Credits, it likely would lead me to change future 2020 stays from Hilton to Marriott.
