Early Account Termination Fee

According to this fee schedule there is no early account termination fee

Our Verdict

We’ve seen previous offers with the same requirements but for $250, this time it’s publicly available but the bonus is only $200. I think this offer won’t last too long if I’m being honest (not really sure why, just a gut feel). If you’re interested in doing this bonus (and I think it’s worth doing) I’d recommend doing it now. I’ll be adding this to our list of the best checking account bonuses.

Opened online in under 20 minutes. Max CC funding is $100, not $1,000 as indicated by DoC. Seems to have coded as purchase on Citi AA.

Is there anywhere that shows your full account number?

BW I asked the same question.. seems that you have to go to the branch to get this… stupid.

Yes, after successfully opening the account, before you start enrolling in online banking, it gives you a “Success!” page that shows your full account # and routing #. I always print that to a PDF file.

The last confirmation page of the application has it and your correct routing number

Is CC funding back to $1000 or just $100?

FYI cc funding is only $100 and wanted to go through as cash advance for me (got error as cash advance limit is set to $0). Otherwise very easy and approved instantly. They must have streamlined their app process because honestly this was one of the smoothest I’ve ever done.

Went in on this right now, as mentioned by everyone, the cc funding is limited to $100. I tried with my Citi DC and it looks to be coded as a purchase. Ill update if its status changes to a cash advance.

Status still remains the same. I also wanted to note that I initially got denied when I applied through my phone for some reason even though I never had an account with them before for the same three generic reasons other commentors made. This was possibly due to the ID verification question screen not popping up due to my adblocker on my phone compared to when I applied through my desktop with adblock disabled
with the same information I entered on my phone resulted in an instant approval.

Looks like there’s a $100 limit for credit card funding now.

Citi DC posted as purchase

Thank you for the information, I also opened my account with Citi DC, I’m waiting to be posted.

This is one of the easiest bonuses to do. Deposit >$250 into your account, then set up a bill pay to one of your credit cards for $250, bonus met almost instantly.

The only drawback previously was needing to go to a branch, wait for a banker, sit and make awkward small talk while they hunt and peck your application you could have done yourself in a fraction of the time.

Huh. Currently, a TCF account holder and they pulled this hunt and peck trick the last time I wanted to add P2 to a checking account. Plus the added benefit of waiting 20 minutes before the banker was ‘done with lunch’ (aka as harassing the young tellers.)

Good to see TCF trains consistently across their branches.

Just opened the account and funded with my Fidelity visa card and is currently pending as a purchase. This bonus should be quick thanks again doc!!!!

Toughest hurdle for me was remembering former addresses dating 30+ years ago.
Funded with Fidelity CC and cash at their BM nearby later today.
Bill Pay requirement will be satisfied this week.

Opened the account online, but the online profile is totally empty. Don’t see an active account. The settings tab says I have no hidden accounts. Did this happen to anyone?

Edit: It showed up. Takes about 10min

Can confirm not chex sensitive. I am at 10/24 with no issues.

i was denied acct. I didn’t get to part to answer questions from credit file. Screen prior said i was denied for 1 of 3 reasons:

We are unable to verify your identity based on the information you provided;
You had a previous unsatisfactory account relationship with us; or
Your name is similar to a name on a government sanction list.

I opened for a bonus a couple years ago but don’t think i finished with an unsatisfactory relationship. Not sure if it was a identity verification as i never got to screen with questions.

Called as i was curious and they couldn’t tell me what reason was. Said i could go into branch but don’t live near one. I am probably 20/24.

Weird denial reason.

Did you close the account too soon? Usually should keep open 6 months

I waited about 6 months and a week from my data pts.

Also got this message, never had an account with them before. May stop in at the branch this weekend.

Ugh, after 3 churns of this, they caught onto me.

Respect for going hard. RIP.

Had the same response and never had an account with them 🙁

yes, the 12mo/6mo language wasn’t being enforced… 3 bonuses in a month I got.

MM

Quick and easy signup. Note there’s some good DPs in the previous DoC posts re: what counts as DD.

Doesn’t seem Chex sensitive as I’m 20+/24.

Millennial Outrage

Opened successfully. Previously churned this in 2017 when they inadvertently opened up a ‘targeted’ bonus to anyone. Everything since then seems to have been strictly targeted.
