Monthly Fees
These account has no monthly fees to worry about
Early Account Termination Fee
I didn’t see any early account termination fee in the fee schedule.
Our Verdict
I always like deals where you can get at least some of the bonus without a direct deposit. This should be worth doing if you live in an eligible area, but we’ve never seen a bonus from Ardent so not sure if it’s a hard or soft pull.

Seems to be dead. Promo is expired
Shows fine for me
Anyone know if this bonus is churnable? Got bonus on 11/03/21 and closed account on 12/13/21 thus was curious to see if I could get this bonus again at the end of the year
what you put as employer? if you are not nurse
I opened in April, had 2 direct deposits of $250, then changed it to $100. I made 8 debit purchases all over $1 but under $2. I signed up for e-statements. Never got bonus. I just called today (9/23) and she said my debit card purchases had to be over $5 and 8 every month for 90 days and my direct deposits had to be $250 twice a month for 90 days. I said, no look at the terms I am reading them right now. It says 8 debit purchases and does not say the $ amount. For direct deposit it says 2 or more. She said she will email them and get back to me but I assume I am in the same boat and will empty account and close it.
i was told the same thing …. what was the outcome for you ? also, looks like they are also saying the accounts needs to be used on a regular basis and not just to get the bonus Ardent Credit Union reserves the right to determine in its sole discretion that an account is ineligible for the promotion because the activity on the account was limited to only the actions needed to qualify for the bonus and is not consistent with regular and repeated use as described above
I think this is the first bank I’ve ever not gotten the bonus for. They didn’t give me any part of it, claiming I didn’t do any of the things on time (not sure why I didn’t get estatements at least). In any case I’m just going to withdraw my money and move on.
Once my money is out, I’m going to send a secure message to close.
This bank bonus is the closest to AMEX RAT I have ever seen.
Hi Dog Food. What about US Bank’s RAT? They close people’s credit cards
ieatdogfood
Has anyone closed their account? Do you need to go into a branch or could this be done over the phone? Thanks.
Did you figure it out? I’m going to try a secure message.
Still no bonus here. Any updates from anybody else?
I’m on the same page:
Opened 4/11
Real DD 4/15 – $250
Real DD 4/30 – $250
9 Amazon reloads + one real amazon purchase on 6/7.
Still no bonus of any kind of 8/5/22. I’ll probably reach out by end of month if I don’t see anything, but 4 months waiting is a pain.
what was the outcome for you ?
Sent a message last week to ask about it (account opened in March). Rep responded with:
“In reviewing your information, please make sure you are still active with these met requirements. It has been 3 months since the last time you made a direct deposit and used your debit card. Estatements have been met, please allow up 90 business days for the deposit of your statements to be deposited into your account.”
Seems they are enforcing this language:
“Ardent Credit Union reserves the right to determine in its sole discretion that an account is ineligible for the promotion because the activity on the account was limited to only the actions needed to qualify for the bonus and is not consistent with regular and repeated use as described above. A qualifying account must be funded, remain open and in good standing to receive the bonus. Bonus will be deposited into the checking account between 95 and 120 days after account opening.”
“Qualifying debit card transactions are ones that reflect a wide range of dollar amounts and occur as part of the cardholder’s day-to-day activities. An example of debit card transactions which do not qualify would be card transactions conducted within a condensed time frame.”
I’ve had no activity since the initial transfers and 8 debit transactions. I plan on doing a few more normal debit transactions and maybe a small transfer to see if that helps.
That stinks. I’m in a similar spot. I’ve had a tiny amount of real activity, but not much. I don’t see how they can deny the $50 bonus for at least enrolling in e-statements. What normal activity is required for that? What is even the point of them defining what you need to do to make the bonus if they are making it a judgment call anyway?
I just wrote them too, and I plan to follow up with that argument.
what was the outcome for you ?
No soup for me.
what was the outcome for you ?
Not a good DP here.
Mar 11 open
Three $300 employer DD in March/April
8 Amazon reloads in March
Some small debit purchase in May/June
No bonus. Waiting until next week before asking for it.
Also a negativeish DP here. Opened around 3/19. Through an error on my part, my original “DD” were not high enough, but I did do some over 300 by 6/16. Also amazon reloads with a few small purchases.
Given my “DD” probably don’t look great, might not call and ask.
what was the outcome for you ?
