The Offer
- U$X Federal Credit Union is offering a bonus of $100 when you open a new FREE Checking or Members Plus Checking and complete the following requirements:
- Receive a direct deposit (employer net check direct deposit) within 60 days of account opening. If you don’t have an employer that offers a direct deposit you must deposit a minimum of $500 per month into the checking account
The Fine Print
- To receive the $100.00 cash bonus for direct deposit, employer net check direct deposit must start within 60 days of new account opening.
- Members who have employers that don’t offer direct deposit must deposit a minimum of $500.00 per month into the checking account.
- USX FCU will determine if this requirement is being met by evaluating the deposit history.
- All bank account bonuses are treated as income/interest and as such you have to pay taxes on them

Our Verdict
Relatively low bonus and it seems like they might check to ensure you’re depositing your full pay. We need to know if it’s a soft pull to open, but even if it is it isn’t a great bonus so most likely won’t be adding to the best checking bonus page. Their unpronounceable name kinda bothers me, lol. (Okay, I see from their URL that the dollar sign is just a substitute for “S”, making it a normal acronym. But still.)
