I’m quite interested in the clock being reset for Citi if this also resets your price rewind amount. This would be very beneficial in 2019 when the maximum is 1,000 per card instead of the current 2,500.
Don’t think it does
how come nobody is talking about the Synchrony Lyft CC? very interested to see when it launches.
my Prestige had fraud and i was issued a new card and yes it did reset the 24-month clock. i found this out when applying for the Premier card and letter came with new card saying not eligible for the 60k bonus, so i simply called them up and got transferred to whoever and the rep checked everything out and manually added bonus terms to my new Premier card. it was no big deal in the end and obviously worth the calling time. annoying that it had to be done, yes.
I’m curious if the change in issuer for the Walmart cards will affect credit limits on the cards. I’ve had difficulty getting higher than 8k limit on all but 1 of my synchrony based cards.
I’ve wondered about the Citi reset for a new card number after fraud or a lost card. Now I know. It’s bwen 3nyears since I applied for a Citi TY card but I was issued a new TY Preferred card early this year when my Forward was converted to that. I was just going to wait it out but now I’m wondering if I have a legit dispute too.
Citi’s general rule on conversions is that if your account number doesn’t change then the clock is not reset, but if the account number changes (which is obviously necessary if converting from a Visa to MC) then the clock is reset. Unfortunately, Citi does not seem to treat involuntary conversions any differently from involuntary conversions in this regard.

Thanks for adding the link, Ann!
My TYP was reissued because of fraud (different card numbers) about a year ago. I applied for a new TYP two months ago and I just got the 60K points last week.
This is good to hear. Hopefully the story above is an outlier somehow, as it would be super obnoxious if Citi really can’t tell the difference between opening a new account and a card number change.
Btw, did you get the 2nd TYP while the 1st was still open? Or after a product change?
