- Is Hotels.com/Venture Charging Higher Room Rates than Hotels.com? by VFTW. Even without the price hike it wasn’t worth using as you had to forfeit the free night after 10 nights.

- EasyJet with the social media fail. Obviously they weren’t going to make her fly like that, but you can’t really ask for the picture to be removed as all that did was cause more attention.
Hi Matthew, thanks for bringing this to our attention, before we can investigate this could I ask you to remove the photograph & then DM us more info regarding this, so we can best assist you. Ross https://t.co/Qq2zhBAizh

Possible Venture 10X hack
One great thing about the program for now – if you signed last fall with the 75K or have the Venture card and your close to enough miles for a Transfer award – you can book speculative booking for the 10x points will post with 24-48 hours of the Hotels.com reservation go from pending to posted. I have no idea what happens with C1 if your points balance goes negative – no DP but you could always PC to the no AF Venture card I suppose. Y
ou will either have to pay for the Charges or cancel the reservations after transferring to your FF program. I’m not sure I would push this unless it was for a few thousand miles and I planned on still using the card later to make up the deficit. I’m sure someone might go big and get greedy and it might end up getting blacklisted by C1.
Haven’t done this other than for a legit booking – Which was higher than both main site as well as agoda. com I’m sure that you could still take advantage of Hotel Low price Guarantee (and since the reservation are paid up front – no future coupon for the site

You still earn stay credit toward a free night from FAQ page :
“I am a Hotels.com Rewards member. Can I get 10x miles and accrue Hotels.com Rewards?
Yes, you can book on hotels.com/venture with or without a Hotels.com Rewards account, but we recommend signing up so you can take advantage of the Hotels.com Rewards program. With Hotels.com Rewards, you can earn a free night for every 10 nights you stay. Read more here.”
This is correct – I have earned nights on three hotels.com stays that I also received 10x Venture miles from. Those two rewards do stack; however, you cannot go through a shopping portal and earn both the portal cash back and the Venture miles. Additionally, if you use the higher portal rate through ebates, you do not earn progress towards a free night.
As far as the rates go, I’ve found most of the time they are the same, but one hotel I tried to book in Ireland last year was higher in the Venture page versus the regular page. I wound up booking through Expedia instead and received 8% back through Ebates, which when combined with the credit card rewards nearly equaled the 10x Venture miles I missed out on.
yeah sorry I meant to say you can get a bigger discount by using discounted GC
Ultimate economy seats. “Sorry ma’am, you did not upgrade to a regular seat at check in” lol
I found a hotel in Prague 1 near the metro station at hotels.com, then i went to hotels.com/venture to book but could not find that hotel. I think venture does not has access to all the hotels. Finally booked thru regular hotels.com and missed the 10x points.
I prefer cheaptickets over hotels.com. They usually have 16% off and that’s much better than screwing around with a free night. Of course, this doesn’t apply if the hotel you want doesn’t accept coupon codes
Can you elaborate on the 16% off? That’s an odd figure to throw out.
They have a 16% off coupon code on their website regularly.

And how will that affect my MS…

Second.
A tap on the photo will take you to twitter site.
Here’s a follow up:

“One has to wonder how safe the rest of the plane was. This was her seat. The lady was moved to a spare seat once the flight was fully boarded. Not sure what would have happened if the flight was full.
My partner took the photo.

I’ve seen some real weirdness with hotels.com prices depending on whether I’m logged in, looked at properties recently, or made a purchase recently. It might be the case that the Venture site is charging a “normal” price while vanilla hotel.com recognizes some special condition to offer a lower rate. Regardless of the semantics, always a good idea to compare prices.
One trick I discovered was to click “book now” and pay via PayPal, but then not finalize PayPal payment. Because the number of rooms changed, or because I just made a “purchase” (not sure which) the price on the remaining rooms went down. Meanwhile, the PayPal transaction expires without charging me since I never select a payment source.
There was a very thorough explanation on reddit yesterday in either the DD or Question thread about different pricing on those kinds of sites. I am on mobile so not going to try to find it right now but it should be pretty easy to track down.
I have noticed differences as well by clicking a cashback link as well. It’s not a huge variance, but enough to second guess yourself before realizing it.
