Our Verdict
This is the best public bonus we’ve seen on this account. Previous best was up to $525. Keep in mind the new language. The link itself doesn’t seem as generic as some other links do, but I played a bit with the URL string and other numbers seem to work so if each link is single use it might still be possible to change characters to get it to work. Let’s hope it’s not single use. This is definitely worth considering if you can do both bonuses, and I’ll be adding it to the best checking & savings bonus page.

This bonus contains language stating:
- You can receive only one new checking and one new savings account opening related bonus every two years from the last enrollment date and only one bonus per account. Bonuses are considered interest and will be reported on IRS Form 1099-INT (or Form 1042-S, if applicable).
Previously you could do these bonuses once every calendar year. More information on that change here.
Does Chase consider the prepaid Starbucks debit card to be an “existing Chase checking account” for this and similar offers? I’ve been churning Chase checking/savings bonuses for years, but only recently opened the Starbucks debit card. Wondering if I’ll need to close it to be eligible for future checking/savings offers from Chase if they have similar terms? Thanks!

Does Transferwise still work? Doesn’t trigger a bonus for me…
I believe it doesn’t work if you send it to “Myself”.
You have to go same currency and then New recipient, Business or charity.
1/8 – $8.95 – Transferwise
1/12 – $200 for New Checking
Yeah, my friend did that a few weeks ago and got the bonus, but it didn’t work for me 🙁
Eventually, what worked for you?
Does this offer still exist?
It would appear not. Figures, I just became eligible after the new 2 year rule and now I’m SOL. Thanks for nothing, CHASE!
How are you guys closing the accounts? Zero out both accounts then SM?
So Chase closed my checking account without warning or notice because it had zero balance and 60 days of inactivity. I had already received the $300 checking bonus. Chase said I would have to visit a branch or write in to get them to reopen it.
I know the terms of the bonus state that if the account is closed by Chase or the consumer within 6 months of opening, they will deduct the bonus amount at closing. Does anyone know how that works if the account was empty? Can they claw back the bonus if the account was empty when they closed it?
Today I received the $200 savings bonus. I was hoping to also get the $100 bonus for doing both the checking and savings offers. Does the $100 combo bonus deposit to checking or savings? Am I SOL? Would I still get that if I somehow get Chase to reopen the checking account?
DP for $600 bonus that ended 10/1/20:
9/28/20 – Applied through DoC provided link on this page for Total Checking and Personal Savings accounts at the same time.
10/1/20 – Real DD from employer
10/6/20 – $300 bonus posts in checking account
10/7/20 – ACH push $5,000 from Ally to savings
10/13/20 – ACH push $5,000 from Ally to savings
10/16/20 – ACH push $5,000 from Ally to savings ($15,000 deposit posted by 10/21/20)
1/5/21 – $200 bonus posts in savings account (76 days from $15,000 deposit requirement)
1/5/21 – $100 bonus posts in checking account for doing both checking and savings at the same time
Will transfer all excess funds out of both accounts except for the minimums to avoid fees and close both after 6 month period is up.
I had been following the progress of the savings bonus through the tracker on the app and noticed on 12/27/20 that the status showed that the offer expired. This prompted me to call the bank, which I now know I shouldn’t do and I apologize for doing so. However, the rep explained to me that the tracker doesn’t always have the correct information and he assured me I would still get the bonus if the $15,000 balance remained in the account until 1/21/21. This gave me peace of mind that I had met all the requirements and sure enough, I received the savings bonus two weeks earlier than expected.
+1 showed up for me today as pending – almost the same timeline for me. I used Astra to ACH push funds however.
DP: raise ach payout still triggers checking bonus. Sold a 25 bass pro gift card for 20 and cashed out to chase. Took 5 calendar days.
I confirm Raise works for DD to chase as of April 2021. they charge 15% of the sell price though.
Previously tried:
Santander
Transfer wise personal to business, to myself and to someone else
Capital1 360Checking
Alliant Savings
Charles Schwab (checking and Brokerage)
Sunflower Bank
Citizens
Aspiration
Current
Investors bank
none of these worked
This is so tempting, but with all the horror stories I’m not sure I want to tempt fate getting $15k locked up for funding the account to their promo terms and then Chase credit cards shut down. Forbidden fruit I guess. I love how I was so young, dumb, and naive the first time I did this promo before I knew about DOC. Chase seems like a ****show lately. They are teasing me now with the $500 promo in my “offers” tab on the mobile app.
You have any DP’s for Chase CC shui down from doing their bank bonus?? I haven’t seen anything unless people were doing many high dollar GC or high velocity CC openings, or other risky behavior?
Transferwise was how I got the DD bonus. Fidelity did not work. After all these data points, I think it’s reasonable to assume Fidelity and other brokerages will not work going forward. 🙁
