Absolute low blow by Emirates. They are trying to make the party of slave owners and tax cuts for the rich look inhumane and uncivilized. Almost any living creature can do that.

4/10. Honestly, you could’ve done better. I enjoy your brand of biting sarcasm, but it’s a bit “on the nose” to bring up slavery. At least use more topical terms, like “forced labor” and “re-education” centers.

took the words out of my mouth, but I’d give it closer to a 6/10

Mask “exemptions” defeat the whole purpose. Glad UA and SW aren’t falling for anyone’s BS anymore.

United will kick you out if you don’t comply. Literally.

So until the airline’s require a negative test to fly, anyone with with COVID symptoms can just pop a Tylenol and don mask.

AACA forces them to allow anyone that’s contagious to fly and unless they voluntarily disclose they have symptoms or require all to test for COVID you can be flying with multiple active COVID carriers – even more so amongst Millennials and Gen Y (no shade, just that they are the new vectors and I thought I was indestructible when I was 18-24 y.o.).

I know that the last thing that domestic carriers want in mandatory testing to fly, but honestly this should have come down from FAA/DOT/TSA/CDC about mandatory masks.

“Gen Y” is millennials (born around 1981-1996) – the generation after “Gen X”. The next younger generation is “Gen Z”, AKA “Zoomers” (born around 1996-2010). (And the youngest after that is “Generation Alpha”, if you’re curious.)

Sooooo are you suggesting that they should let the contagious people fly… without a mask? I guess I’m not sure what you’re trying to achieve here.

Many trumpet politicians that denied the virus and refused to wear masks are now sick and using valuable medical resources in the hospital. They should be the lowest priority to get any medical care.
But these freeloaders will never learn. Taking all the resources they don’t deserve.

Umm, I honestly don’t understand these rabbit holes you guys are going down. Blaming a certain generation or political affiliation (or any other generalization) is a waste of time. This a natural disaster and how we respond individually and as a society matters.

Simply wear a mask. If you’re sick, you shouldn’t fly. And if you do anyway, shame on you. You may face charges by authorities or get banned for life by the airlines.

It’s not that hard. The rest of the world, minus the US, Brazil, Russia, and India (great group, btw), seem to get it. EU, Canada, AU, NZ (the rest of the West) and the more advanced parts of Asia (Japan, Taiwan, Singapore, and S Korea) are definitely shocked at our ineptitude, and are basically banning us from visiting because of it. A tragedy on multiple fronts.

The fact that Americans can only travel to countries like Tanzania and Turkey right now should tell us something. Regardless of the pandemic, stay away from Turkey.

Good for Emirates. At least they’re trying something. Businesses have to get creative these days.

Read the terms and conditions. I don’t think anybody is getting paid on this insurance. Most countries impose a 14 day quarantine whether the traveller has COVID or not. Emirates will pay ONLY if Covid is determined (ie) the traveller is not getting insurance paid if the destination country has a mandatory quarantine period.

This is just a marketing trick. No real benefits.

Ah, yes, “marketing,” otherwise known as: lying for profit.
