That’s cool that Hertz added Teslas instead of random other electric cards (from brands that are not primarily electric). That means that for people who get to choose “any car” in a particular area (including Hertz Gold, which is free to sign up for), if you want electric you know what to look for, and if you don’t want electric, you just need to avoid Telsa, not walk around every car to see if it’s electric or not.
Wish it were any other rental company. Since emerging from their bankruptcy restructuring, Hertz has been less than straightforward about some of the fees they’ve been assessing. There’s been quite a few stories in the LA Times in the past few months of, e.g., non-smokers being charged smoking fees or late fees for cars returned on time and Hertz won’t refund the incorrectly charged fees until the media gets involved.
