To all those poo-pooing people who sign up for this: Let he who is without sin get the first bank bonus.
Still Chex sensitive – applied 3/23 and denial letter was dated 3/24.
I own the action bible book as proof, do I qualify as faith enough? I haven’t completed reading the book though
Nope you have sinned for not reading it, so a Thrivent is downgrading your bonus to 20.00
Went though whole application. Being reviewed. Having opened 10+ bank accounts over the past year my hopes aren’t very high with this one.
Gonna Thri”Vent”. Got denial letter in mail today. Excessive inquiries. First bank/CU account I’ve been denied for in a couple years. Chex sensitive as others say.
Nah they must have known you weren’t a Born again.
Went through the app and it is currently “under review.” Seeing as they’re Chex sensitive I’m going to assume that means “no.”
how many applications in past 6 and 12 months?
My dad is a pastor, I never believed in that stuff as a kid but the most I grow up and I study the most sense christianity makes more sense but I dont see Thrivent is more like Chick fil a than a faith based institution. Still better than evil BOA or Chase.
Nowhere on their website could I find anything about Christian faith or needing it to be a member. Even if true, would it really be all that bad? All things considered, the world would probably be in a much better place than it is now if we had more people of faith leading it…With that said, If I get approved, I will be churning this one and the comments on here are outstanding. Keep up the good work!

Considering religion is the cause of the most deaths over our short history that would be a resounding no.
It doesn’t mean all religions are bad. Far from it. But having faith in a deity is far from necessary to have people leading by example.
I’m not religious whatsoever but I do have faith in humanity to find ways to persevere through innovation and science. Thus being atheist/agnostic and faith aren’t mutually exclusive.
This gay atheist is about to grab a $200 bonus and then close out his account.
May the Lord have mercy on your soul. Get that money…
Amen brother.
Thanks, but I hear Fallen Federal Credit Union is offering a $666 checking bonus for those who denounce their Christian faith. The lady at the front desk has a cool pet snake and always gives me a free apple too.
Can confirm.
Imagine some other organization restricting to some other religion, there would be an outrage from many Christians. Hypocrisy!
Pretty sure there are banks for other religions.
That don’t fall under the christian umbrella?
link?
Is there actually some sort of verification you are in fact a Christian sky people worshipper for this one or can an agnostic like me do the bonus?
You could just lie… you’re going to hell anyway O-o
All jokes aside, I’m curious as well
I’m lol/24 so probably doesn’t matter for me
Just wondering if how do they determine faith eligibility?
Trust fall
They call you and you have to pray to God while they’re on the line.
Funny comments here, however, not factual. I hold accounts here & with CCU as well….and am a professing Christian.
I was never queried about my faith. You can always try to join and answer their questions through the enrollment process. If you’re looking to cash in on the bonus offer, by all means give it a go.
Both of these credit unions payout like clockwork, no gimmicks. Unlike some of the larger “national” profit-based institutions. Ironically, working with Thrivent has been a pleasure and their customer service team is phenomenal.
Just sayin…
