The 737 crash was caused by insufficient altitude.
The FAA bears significant responsibility here with their laxity in allowing Boeing to push this through. This is happening in multiple sectors of US capitalism–regulatory agencies are being captured by the industries they are supposed to regulate. Much to our collective detriment.
This is what the Republicans want – remember folks, businesses can easily self regulate, there’s no way that profits would motivate them to do something slimey.

It was free market competition according to VOX. The lack of pilot training on the new software was only a supposed side effect of that free market.
