The Offer
- Shoprite is offering a $10 shopping credit toward a future shopping trip when you buy $150 in Visa gift cards from September 2 – September 8. Must scan Price Plus card.
Note: The dates are different for Shoprite stores in Maryland.
The Fine Print
- Limit 1 per customer
- Valid only on Visa gift cards
- $10 certificate prints on bottom your register receipt and must be presented to redeem $10 of your next shopping order at Shoprite store; coupon will be valid from September 9 – 15
- Minimum purchase of $10 required when redeeming the coupon
- Coupon can not be used on prescriptions, gift cards, stamps, milk, cigarettes, fuel, tobacco, alcohol
Our Verdict
Good way to rack up some Grocery store spend. Some will prefer buying a $500 Visa gift card instead of the minimum $150.

Buying VGCs at Shopwrong is pain in the ass!
Many stores in NJ are f__king unfriendly when you check out VGCs and usually get manager grilling you.
Can’t agree more! they treat everyone like fraud!
My local CT store is pretty bad too. No credit cards for GC purchases. Cash or Debit only.
Then when you try to use the coupon, you have to wait at checkout because they have to get manager approval for any coupon over $5.
Last time I visited Medford NJ they had removed all but a few of the $25 Visa cards (No MC either) so there would be no point in buying.
I just by Shell cards to meet the spend requirement as I’ll always need to buy gas.
The purchase fee greatly subtracts from this deal, effectively leaving you with only $3 or $4 off, not really worth it unless you need spend on a card, IMO.
Especially since you have only a week to use the coupon.
Our local stores only have up to $200 cards, with the $6.95 fee. I wish we had access to $500 cards.
On the surface, $10-$6.95 = $3.05.
But if you add in ~$10 for using a card that earns 5% on groceries, you’re up above $13.
Then you use the $200 gift card for a purchase that normally wouldn’t qualify for a bonus spending category.
Also, remember to get the paper receipt! If you use the app, insist on the paper receipt that day from that store, before you leave the store.
I haven’t looked in a while, but I don’t think there are $500 Visa GCs in ANY Shoprite these days, which obviously makes this offer far less appealing to most.
