What does Simon Mall code as for rewards with Chase or Amex? What is the play here, just hit minimum spend?

Can’t order more than$10,000 in a single order. Should be 25,000. But I can’t order 10 of $1,000. Anyone has same problem?

Simon set $10,000 per day limit on some users, request to raise the limit is subject to approval.

The FREEGROUND code doesn’t work anymore.

What’s the consensus regarding using CapOne Spark for a large purchase and not cycling the credit limit? One purchase, up to limit, once per cycle? Still too risky?

Do I have to become a corporate member to purchase the $1000 online? Is it safe for chase to do a sign-up bonus? Where can I buy it in a Simon mall?

some simon malls may be open, but they likely don’t have the $1K VGC to sell

Why not? They were selling it before covid-19 closures

Warning if you get a fraudulent transaction on the card it is much harder to dispute it then with a regular credit card. Today I got a fraudulent purchase at kohl’s tried calling customer service but they said have to wait 10 days for the transaction to clear before they can dispute it with the merchant.

If it was possible to split tender amongst multiple cards, it would be a no brainer for me. I’m not willing to max out my credit limits on something that probably codes as “BULK SIMON.COM GIFT CARDS” and take that risk on one card.

It says SIMON VOLUME. Someone reported here about a month ago that they got shut down. Not sure the specifics, but…agreed, seems too risky.

Thanks so much for mentioning this DP. Do you remember this DP is so I could look at it? Or at least do you happen to remember which card he used? Thank you 😉

i just remembered that he purchased $25k, so the amt may have drawn attn to him, but i still wouldn’t do it, even w my low limit gc purchases https://www.doctorofcredit.com/simon-mall-selling-1000-visa-giftcards-online-limit-of-25000-per-order/#comment-955121

That’s a very strange DP. He provided no history of prior MSing but suddenly one 9k purchase got him shut down? Highly suspicious.

addl disc is nice, but smvgc doesn’t earn any cb or cat bonus, right? also, a single purch of $10k could likely put eyes on CCs acct

Exactly. Don’t don’t ever do this… terrible and asking for a shutdown. 100% of people that do this get shutdown

How is this much different than my 10K+ purchases from a local simon mall and is listed on my statement as “Tampa Premium Outlet”? I didn’t hear of people getting shutdown when it was coding as 3X, so why would you when it’s only coding as 1X?

Superworm It isn’t. The people above are newbies who think that there is a clear distinction between buying them online and buying them at the Simon kiosk unless they don’t buy Simon VGCs in general.

To be fair there is always a risk that your account could get shutdown but I feel like that is if you go too crazy on new cards and don’t give it time to season.

Good point. And of course I could get shutdown with the extra COVID scrutiny going on, but I think those of us who have built up the volume over the years probably are probably safe.

When did Simon Mall purchases ever code as 3x?

Eric

Maybe the Citi Access card for the 3x online purchases?

Use to on the CIP. About a year ago iirc

Or just don’t use a card which “excludes” earning rewards for buying gift cards, such as the Citi Double Cash or US Bank Altitude. Using a card that doesn’t exclude them in their terms, shouldn’t get you shutdown for that reason alone.

I don’t know where you got that 100% from, I’ve done it and know other people that have done it and we didn’t get shut down. Just don’t get greedy and don’t cycle your credit.

With Amex doesn’t, Chase and others give rewards.
