The Offer
- Raise is selling Macy’s gift cards for 20% off (a few are even more heavily discounted at 20.5%)
The Fine Print
- These are eGiftcards, not physical gift cards
Our Verdict
You can resell these gift cards to GiftCards.com for 80.5% of their face value, this would net you 0.5% profit. But we can make this deal even better:
- If you don’t have a Raise.com account, use Chuck’s link and you’ll get a $5 discount on your first order Update: you need to add REWARD5 to the checkout (he will also get $5 if your order is over $50)
- Shop through TopCashBack and receive an additional 1% cash back (you’re limited to $1,000 in sales for life)
- Use a credit card that earns at least 2% cash back
- Resell to GiftCards.com for 80.5% of face value
This means you’d be paying $35 for your first $50 gift card and would earn an extra 3% cash back ($1.05) and you’d be able to sell it for $40.25 ($6.05 profit), obviously the majority of your profit is coming from the sign up bonus. Your second gift card purchase you’d pay $40 and earn 3% cash back ($1.2) and you’d be able to resell it for $40.25 ($1.45).
You’re also limited to selling $300 to GiftCards.com until you’re approved as a bulk seller and all the other sites you’d lose money on reselling these cards. Personally I don’t think this deal is worth the risk/time involved but if you need a few hundred dollars to help meet a minimum spend then it might make sense, although I think there are better options out there.
