[Expired] Staples: Buy $300 in Visa or Mastercard Gift Cards and get $15 Rebate [11/5-11/11. Rebate Now Working]

This deal has expired. Click here for current manufactured spending deals.

Reposting as it looks like the rebate is now working properly. It also looks like the end date was 11/11, not 11/18 even thought that was the original date listed.

Warning, people are having issues with the rebate printing. Read comments for more up to date details. (Seems to be an issue with the blue VGCs. Check the SKU’s shown in the picture below before buying and hopefully those will work.)

[11/5/17: Reposting since it’s now live. Readers say there’s an issue currently with this rebate only showing up as a mail-in rebate, not eligible for online submission.]

Our Verdict

Interesting that they’re doing a two-week time period this time. You guys know what to do. Here’s more information on Staples Easy Rebates.

Curse you Staples and your 0 locations in Louisiana!!!

I second that curse Dave. OD needs to step it up!

Another one? Last one was like last week?

It will be interesting to see if the sign in the store says VISA gift card, like last week.

wow, so soon!

Has Staples been rebating VGCs lately?
I’ve been taking the advertisements at face value (Staples GC) & stayed away for awhile now…

Nyet to Staples GC.

lol, if another store gc, their offer last week must have not done well

Eve

It seems the sales went not well last week. The store shelf in my area did have lots of inventory. Before it was clear as soon as the sale started.

dan

if wanting to clear out some inventory, should offer the vgc rebate

People were busy with OD/OM deal. Plus $15 staples gc isn’t worth it for many.

What’s the best bang per buck, 1 $200 and 1 $100 or 2 $200? I have the 5x at Staples card.

Simple math, 2 $200.

So to clarify this is a Staples GC and not a Visa gc? I only did one rebate during last week’s offer, partly due to time constraints, inventory and hesitation that it was gonna be Staples GC.

I donate the Staples gift cards to the schools because the teachers often buy products for the kids out of their pocket.

They get to take a tax deduction for spending cash out of pocket. They also have summers off…

Nice gesture on your behalf though.

You do know that the most they get as a deduction is $250 right? Just google “teachers tax deduction for spending out of pocket” and look at the first link.

Read the ‘wiki’ (https://www.doctorofcredit.com/ways-to-liquidate-staples-easy-rebate-prepaid-cards), but did not see this answered:

If I do this deal and receive a Staples gift card, can I keep it until the next of these Giftcard deals like this one comes around and then use my Staples GC to partially pay for the new Master/Visa GC…?

JASON
JASON

Staples GC cannot be used to buy their party gift card

Mimi
Mimi

I’m sure it’s YMMV but at one of my Staples, the manager accepts their store GC to pay for VGC and register does not limit to just one Staples GC since I was able to swipe three $25’s to pay for two VGCs and pay the balance with Ink+. I don’t know the max store GC register will take before they get rejected.

Also, anyone who did the last deal in October (see: https://www.doctorofcredit.com/staples-buy-300-visa-mastercard-gift-cards-get-15-gift-card-rebate-1022-1029), can they clarify if they actually received a Staples or a Visa rebate card in the end?
In the comments ppl report that sign in store announced Visa rebate card, but receipt printed as Staples GC as rebate, so I’m curious which one it actually was… TIA

Last week I went to one staples store and saw they put a banner on the gift card session:

Buy $300 or more of Visa or MasterCard Gift Cards and get a $15 Visa prepaid card by Rebate

tyrone

that deal was last week dude. nobody would received rebate card that fast.

Rebate had been shipped but not received yet. It was stated as a Staples GC. I find the rebate website often has the most accurate info: https://rebate.staples.com/promocenter/staples/easyrebates?page=promo_search.html

Look for Blackhawk. I ignore the signs or lack there of since it’s wrong half the time and most clerks don’t even know they are running the deal.

DP: a set of $200 VGCs on 11/10 and 2 sets on 11/11. Rebate printed for all 3 and processed online just like all the previous ones.

I rather prefer they have this promotion on a weekly basis and continue to have the same on the following week such that you can have two different rebate forms in a two-week period. Now, you can have only one.

I don’t have ink card but this BofA business CC gives me 3% on stationary purchase which compensate most of the fees on MCGC. This will be a visa prepaid debit card so my gain is $15-$0.95=$14.05 per address. I have a total of 5 different addresses that can use.

Tyler
Tyler

Can you get two in one purchase if you have two different addresses?

Steve
Steve

Why would you ever want to try two rebates in a single transaction?????

JASON
JASON

You don’t get two rebate forms in one purchase (or called one transaction). If you buy 6 x $200 MCGC/VGC in one transaction, you only get one rebate form. Therefore, the number of addresses you can control/access = the number of transactions you want to do. For example, for me, I got my home, work place, girlfriend’s home, 2 cousions’ home so a total of 5 addresses. Let’s say you can access your mails in 2 addresses, so split it into 2 transactions

RON.. why would you donate your Staples card to a school? This is not meant to sound mean.. the teachers in my neck of the woods earn over 100k easily. (my wife was one) The taxes here are sky high and rise each year due to school funding needs (they claim) .They have built in salary increase each year even in austerity budgets. The poor little teacher can afford to buy items on her dime for her class, as my wife always did. I use the rebates for toilet paper/paper towels/wipes/cleaning supplies etc. This is in NY State

Where the hell do you live? The national teacher average is $56,383 in the USA.

How nice for that area. That is absolutely not the norm. I received 10 reams of yellow copy paper that are supposed to last me the entire year, as a high school math teacher. I receive a whopping $200 each year to offset the cost of the supplies I pay for out of my own pocket, which have in the past included printer toner and a bulb for my digital projector because the school would not provide it. My district can’t afford to fix air conditioning in our schools and is refusing to honor our contract to give raises to the teachers who are due them. I make just over $50,000 in my 11th year of teaching.

Thank you to ANYONE who chooses to donate to their local schools. Those donations are needed and greatly appreciated.

You got lemons, make lemonade. Consumers likely won’t be presented with out-of-stock signs on this deal, given the recent unpleasantness with USPS.

Those cards haven’t worked with USPS for some time.
