Update 10/21/21: It seems they’ve now changed this from one transaction per member to $2,000 per member. Image below. That’s actually an improvement since you anyway can’t buy more than $2,000 of gift cards in transaction. So basically, you can now do the $2,000 per week broken up in separate transactions (at least according to the wording of the terms), whereas until now you could only do one transaction (max $2,000) to earn points per week. Hat tip to reader Jim
(As before, all of these changes are only showing at select stores/chains, not others; some people might still be able to buy many times $2,000 and get points on all of them. What I see is Stopandshop as having the $2,000 limit and Giant/Martin’s not showing any limitations, but it might depend on location.)
Original Post 4/15/21:
There’s been some talk about a new verbiage in the terms of Stop&Shop, Giant, Martin’s deals which states:
Limit one (1) gift card rewards offer per household.
Sounds like you’ll only get points on a single purchase, so be sure to buy the full $2,000 in a single transaction. If you split it up or if you come back again to utilize the same deal, you might not get any points at all. When a new deal comes out, you can do it again as your limit gets reset.
Multiple readers report this is now actually being enforced, at least in some places and on some fuel points deals. It might depend on the deal and/or the location as to whether this limit applies. Let us know your experiences in the comments below.
