Looks like Sitelock refunded the $9.99 to my credit card yesterday. I didn’t ask for that nor was I told that would happen when I called to cancel SiteLock. Maybe they did that because the service was never actually setup? I hope SB doesn’t claw back the points… not a huge loss, but it would mean it was all for nothing. FYI Kyle ❤️

Same thing happened to me – refund posted to my credit card a few days ago. What is interesting is that I never contacted them to cancel. I never used or set up the service though, and I noticed about a week ago that I couldn’t log in.

Hopefully not, I think the odds are better since it was through Revenue Universe rather than directly from SB. Have you ever had points taken back after posting? I wonder how it shows on swagbucks activity page. I just got back from vacation and haven’t been paying close attention to my cards but just checked today and looks like I was refunded on the 28th. Thanks for the heads up!

I don’t think I ever had them yank points… but I probably deserve it for some other stuff that has gone on. Most of it was not intentionally shady… but crap happens.

I got prompted with new terms of service logging in today and it included this in the cancellation terms: “If the Customer has signed up for Monthly Billing, then the Customer must pay a fee equal to 50% of the total Annual Term (“Cancellation Fee”).”

Has anybody run into trouble with this?

Interesting. That may throw a wrench in this offer. What’s your game plan?

Sent them a direct email asking to cancel and didn’t accept the terms. The shady thing is that it forces you to accept them if you want to access your account settings (which includes the unsubscribe function)

I got that as well. I’m not accepting their new terms. I called in and left a voicemail requesting they cancel my account. Should hear back within 48 hours.

Attempted to cancel via chat, couldn’t. Was told to email and received a call within an hour to cancel. Phone call was less than 2 minutes – all they needed to verify was the last 4 of the CC used since I didn’t have my account number and received the cancellation e-mail immediately. Told them I’ll be using a different provider.

I tried canceling online twice but gave the same lame automated response they needed to confirm the account and to expect a call shortly.

So, I called to cancel today. Used number in the e-mail. I also had my account info pulled up online. Took about 20 minutes on hold. The first thing they ask you for your site name which is some auto-generated thing, so it’s best if you give them your account number, which is shown under Account > Invoices, on the PDF billing statement. They do ask why your canceling, offer to give you a price break, etc. Also, I think he tried to sell me another product at the end of the call, but the phone was breaking up. Said not interested.

I was able to verify in the online access that the subscription disappeared in the account information (click Account > Subscriptions and it says “No SiteLock Subscriptions Found – No Partner Subscriptions Found”, so I feel confident it’s canceled. No e-mail confirmation of the cancellation though… FYI Kyle ❤️

Just got mine cancelled officially as well. I was hoping they would call me but it didn’t seem like that was going to happen. He kept asking me who I signed up through. I didn’t see why that mattered and was not very forthcoming with information.

There is an option to cancel on the app and I get a message that says your membership has been cancelled. Unfortunately, because of security policy it won’t let me take a screenshot. So hopefully mine has been cancelled, but will probably have to call in the next couple of weeks to make sure.

Not sure why your app was different, but mine & Kyle’s app said we had to speak to a rep to verify the account before we could cancel.

Lifelock was as you mentioned… click just cancel and it closed the membership without calling. Not Sitelock.

I already went over how to see if the membership was terminated… (click Account > Subscriptions and it says “No SiteLock Subscriptions Found – No Partner Subscriptions Found”).

Did you install the app on your phone? That might be why. Everything Gadget and I did was through the online platform.

They just need the info to fill out their form. Told them I saw an online ad, and why I cancelled is because I didn’t have a use for it. I am sure someone somewhere at the company can see where we clicked through, but this is their last opportunity to keep you as a customer, and future salespeople use the data to try to bring you back.

That makes since. At the time of the call I was concerned that because I never set up the VPN anywhere that if I told them I signed up through SB that they would then report to SB that I didn’t follow through and might see my SB pulled. Also any data that they do receive could prevent future profitable deals for new readers down the line.

Thinking too deep, Bro. It’s just some schmo that has to fill out a form because his boss says so. I can’t remember what I had for lunch, let alone how I found their silly product.

On a sidebar, thanks for using my Varo link. Worked marvelously – got the $75 bonus today. 🙂

Yeah, I was pretty stoked to wake up to it this morning! Thanks for the info. Check out google groups when you get a chance. It might be a good free option. I was looking at it a little this morning.

William Charles Should probably add a warning to the post about their annoying cancellation procedure on this one.

Points posted within an hour. Cancelled the next day and got this message:

We recently received your request to cancel your SiteLock services. We hate to say goodbye, but we are unable to complete your request without your help.

@WilliamCharles (not sure how to tag)

I just did a Transunion revenue universe double offer for 4800 Swagbucks, posted within minutes. Only cost $24.95 Good money maker, I don’t find the service useful but some may get something out of it.

Also a great way to add expenses for credit card minimum spends, which is super helpful these days.
