[YMMV] American Express Business Platinum 250,000 Point Offer

Update 3/10/24: This is showing up in incognito mode people again. Requires $15,000 in spend. Some people have got it to load by waiting for the offer to time out and then refreshing others have gotten it by just visiting directly from Google. There was an actual direct link available for a few days but didn’t post due to risk of shutdown. Should be fine if you can get it to show naturally.

Update 11/14/22: There is another direct link available, this time with an additional 10,000 authorized user bonus. I’d recommend reading the caution below before using this link.

Update 7/8/22: There is now a direct link to this offer. I’d exercise extreme caution using this link as American Express has been known to shut down accounts for using these types of links in the past. Hat tip to US Credit Card Guide

Update 6/20/22: FM reports that the calling in method that works for the American Express Business Gold 180k-190k offer also works for this offer (call 855-531-3491 and reject the first offer). Can also get an additional 10,000 points by adding an additional cardholder and spending $1,000+ on that card.

Yep this is still live and I was able to grab it tonight.

I basically used a fresh browser with only a VPN extension installed. No adblock. Googled American Express Business Platinum. Once I was on the search results I turned on my VPN (make sure it’s allowed to run in incognito mode) to a location, right clicked the sponsored link and “open in a private window” it. If I didn’t get it I would close the private window, change VPN location, and open a new private window with that link.

After about 45 mins I was able to get the 250k from a Los Angeles VPN location. Once you actually get the 250k offer you have to turn off the VPN to apply or it will error out.

American Express is taunting us…

I already applied using a 190K offer, and now I keep getting the 250K offer all the time… (We tried to apply for P2 several times but P2 is not eligible for the bonus).

If you ever get the 250K link, DO NOT close the browser instance. Once the 250K link shows up, it appears that a cookie is stored for 250K. Over several days and refreshes, the 250K is still there (regardless of IP)

We originally got the 250K offer using VPN set to Arkansas and Chrome in Incognito mode. However, when applying P2 got an error. The solution was to turn off the VPN, while on the page, and then apply. However, as mentioned, P2 was/is not eligible for the bonus :-(.

After closing and reopening Chrome Incognito, the offer is now 190K.

How do you find out P2 is not eligible for the bonus, do you sign into the account or you apply and it tells you P2 is not eligible.

Gave up today after trying for 4 days straight (probably 300+ refreshes) for the 250K offer on multiple combinations of browsers (Chrome, Firefox, Edge, Opera), incognito/private/regular browser sessions, devices (PCs, smartphones), and VPN/home locations.

For reference, I was able to pull 120K very easily, so I assume that’s probably the current base offer. I pulled 130K, 150K, 170K, and 190K regularly as well, with 150K and 190K the most frequent after 120K. Ultimately, I went with the 190K offer b/c it was the highest I could pull, and my intended spend is time-sensitive as it is tax-related. Good luck to everyone still going for the 250K!

P1 and P2 have never had the Platinum card but we used to get the message “…not eligible to receive the welcome offer….”.

A few weeks ago, P1 applied again using the online 190K offer and was approved!

P2 got a mailer with an RSVP code for a 150K offer, but decided to use a higher online offer instead. However, after submission, P2 got the previous message “…not eligible to receive the welcome offer….”.

Surprisingly, getting a mailer with an RSVP does not guarantee a welcome offer!?
This was confirmed by customer service – marketing sends out the letters w/o knowing if the “system” will grant the offer given………… !

I FINALLY got the offer after a month of trying and just in time to pay my taxes. I opened Google Chrome (no incognito mode, no VPN, located in Arkansas), googled “amex business platinum” at 10:03 am CT on 4/9, clicked the first link and saw the 250,000 points offer. I was approved.

Still alive today, 4/8/24. Searched amex biz plat in Edge and opened the non-sponsored link in Edge private browser; no VPN in SE WI. It look about an hour of trying the other different methods as well.

You forgot to add the cellphone credit: “Enroll and get up to $120 in statement credits per year (up to $10 back per month) for wireless telephone service purchases made directly with a wireless provider in the U.S. on your Business Platinum Card.” This is in addition to pretty nice cellphone protection.

Success! After 2 days of trying every possible browser and multiple devices, I was just about to give up and get the Biz Gold 150k/10k offer. I made one final refresh and there it was like the confirmation of an urban legend

Data points:

  • in South Florida
  • no VPN
  • used Chrome Incognito mode
  • left the browser open for a while, refreshed 4-5 times over the time period
