Our Verdict
I haven’t seen any reports of a Membership Rewards points offer on this one; it’s still a nice 20% rebate if you’re flying the airline. Seems highly targeted.

Doubtful. Fine print clearly states, “Excludes purchases through third parties or affiliated agents.”
yeah, it’s my concern as well.
If not travelling, can this offer be utilized for something else like GC or so? Otherwise sad to let it go to waste like those ATT amex offers….
I tried searching for GCs on Cathay’s site but couldn’t find it. I got this offer too but can’t really use it either before the expiration date. Too bad.
What timing! Was just going to book a flight for a family of 3 to HK over the weekend but held off because I got busy errands. Got this AO on my Business Gold. So will get $300 back as statement credit and 4x points! Not bad for ~20% savings. Thanks AmEx and more importantly DoC for featuring this and saving me at least $400!!

I was noticing that too…of course it’s on all of my cards EXCEPT my platinums…
would tcb and mrrebates be affected to receive cashback if i use your amex promo that you posted im sorry for posting it here, but wanted to get your attention and couldnt find the answer in your other posts.
Portals usually work in conjunction with Amex Offers. Only possible exception I can think of is if there’s a dedicated page for the Amex Offer which is required, then it’s possible it won’t stack.
