[Expired][Targeted] AmEx Offers: Get 50% Off CLEAR, Up To $95 Back (Stack With United Deal)

Deal has ended, view more CLEAR deals by clicking here.

The Offer

Check your AmEx Offers for the following deal:

  • Get 50% back as a statement credit by using your enrolled eligible Card to make purchases online at clearme.com by 8/23/2022. Limit of $95 back in total statement credits.

The Fine Print

  • Offer valid online only at clearme.com.
  • Not valid for e-gift card purchases.
  • Please note, that unless you notify CLEAR that you want to pause, cancel, or that you do not want to auto renew, your subscription will automatically renew for another subscription period (subject to applicable law) of equal length (for example monthly, or annually).

Our Verdict

This is a nice discount. It probably won’t show up on Platinum cards which already offer full reimbursement of the CLEAR membership cost. Remember to cancel before the end of the year if you don’t want to pay for a second year.

This offer stacks well with the United offer from May 25 – July 9, 2022, to get 10,000-15,000 United miles with CLEAR signup. Or you can do the $75 Uber offer instead.

CLEAR now costs $189, but it’s only $119 for MileagePlus or SkyMiles members. Basically you’ll be buying 15,000 United miles for $59.50 and getting free CLEAR for a year.

they clawed back mine within 2-3 days after a refund posted, while P2’s didn’t; so maybe luck of the draw; if yours has been a while w/o a claw back, all may be good

how long did you wait to cancel after paying AF? If I don’t find the service useful after i couple months (and miles hit), i may cancel for pro-rated refund of AF per terms and conditions.

If you stack it with the Uber offer of $75, you pay $19.50 for a year.
(189 x 50%) – 75 = $19.50

If you stack it with United (Platinum/Gold/Silver), you pay $54.50 for 15K miles.

Decisions, decisions. What to do?

Or even better, apply for Amex Green through Resy and get $100 CLEAR credit, stack with $75 Uber offer for $14 for a year, or use your MileagePlus account and get CLEAR for $19 a year.

Plus you also get up to $150 back on restaurant expenses (effectively making first year AF = 0), 50k MR points, and $100 LoungeBuddy credit.

Obvious downside is you open a new tradeline, so won’t be poplar with the 4/24 crowd. But in terms of value this can’t be beat, and is what I’m leaning towards.

I don’t have a need for Amex Green card with my other Amex cards.

Why does the Uber offer have this wording?

“$189 plus you will receive a $75 Uber Voucher”

The non-premiere members pay $119?

Confused.

United non premiere members pay $119 a year. Essentially buying 10k miles for $59.50

For non premier members it’s only 10k united points….
