[Expired] [Targeted] Chase Ink Preferred 120,000 Point Offer

The Offer

No direct link, targeted offer sent out via snail mail

  • Chase sent out a targeted offer to some business offering a bonus of 120,000 bonus points after $5,000 in spend on the Chase Ink Preferred business card

Card Details

This card earns at the following rates per $1 spent:

  • 3x points per $1 spent on the first $150,000 in combined purchases on travel, shipping purchases, internet, cable and phone services, advertising purchases made with social media sites and search engines each account anniversary year
  • 1x points on all other purchases

Our Verdict

This is the highest bonus we’ve ever seen on this card. Standard bonus is 80,000 points. There was supposed to be an in branch 100,000 offer for small business week, but despite some readers getting that offer without a BRM it is supposed to be BRM restricted. If you get this 120,000 offer and are under 5/24, then it’s definitely worth doing. As mentioned it’s the highest bonus we’ve seen and because Chase business cards don’t report to your personal credit report they don’t count towards your 5/24 total making it a double win. If you got targeted, feel free to share any reasons you can think on about why you might have been targeted. If you have any questions about Chase credit cards, please read this post first.

OMG 120k !!!!!!! I just got approved with the 100k offer, do you think asking a match for this stratospheric offer is possible ?

I personally have not had a lot of luck getting Chase to match offers. YMMV.

Chase only matches if it’s the same type of signup. So if you got a referral and the referral bonus would change they would match. But if it’s a mailer and you signed up with a referral your SOL

Damn I got the 80k a few weeks ago.

Not worth it to wait. Especially given the AAs it wouldn’t be smart to hit Chase too hard

Curious about the obsession with AA miles. It seems like everyone complains about award availability, but also keep going through them to rack up miles. I’ve read articles about the best way to redeem, but given availability aren’t they a waste?

For partner airlines, particularly to Asia, there is better availability and decent value to be had.

I think with “AA” they meant adverse action, not American Airlines miles. Suspending/closing accounts during a financial review.

That’s $1500 in travel. Who deja vu CSR

Why would anyone use this long term? …. unless they just happen to be in a business that spends heavily on shipping and advertising

CS Reserve is uncapped 3X on travel and dining, which are the two main categories for road warrior type businessmen.

I know some real business owners who maxed out CIP and BGR shipping quota within a couple months. One maxed out advertising too.

HAHA, I wonder if shipping fees from GCmall would count. I could get on board with that.

If you pay stuff with Plastiq, after just $5000 of annual payments you pay $125 Plastiq fees (2.5%), the card’s annual fee of $95, and you get 15375 URs (3x). If you have a CSR, that’s worth at least $220. $220 = $125+$95, so the card pays itself, as long as Plastiq codes at 3x. Without CSR the math comes out to par at $8000.

That $5000 is less than some people’s monthly rent in SF or NY.

is it worth it to pay my rent with Plastiq every month after $5000?

Lrdx

The fee is 2.5%. You get 3x UR. It’s not a hard math.

The $5000 is just to offset the $95 annual fee using Plastiq only. If you actually have business expenses, it’s even better.

Can you still use your Chase Ink Preferred card to pay mortgage with Pastiq?

As far as I know no. I thought they stopped allowing Visa for this exact reason.

You just answered your own question 😉 We have made a *boatload* of Amex points with Facebook ads on the biz Gold Amex the last few years.

I was told chase business cards do count towards 5/24 because chase can see their own business cards even if they don’t report to credit reports?

Dan
Dan

They don’t count, only personal cards do. I know, I have both types from Chase.

Dave
Dave

Their automated systems don’t count it, but I had 2 different Recon reps count the Ink card when determining I was above 5/24 last year. The only thing that saved me was that two of the other cards were AU.

I find it hilarious,no offense, that this day and age with chase, that a person would say, have recently been approved for the 80k CIP ….and be bitter about not getting the 100k offer…. now… if we are comparing the 80k to the 120k… then I get it. But 100k to 120k…. just get a referral….right????

MickeyMouse
MickeyMouse

You can’t refer the 100k or 120k offers even if you were targeted for one. The highest You can refer is 80k and the person referring gets 20k UR.
