Our Verdict
Citi is known for sending out crazy offers on this card. This is the reason this card is ranked #1 on our list of store cards. If you don’t already have this card you can get it with a $150 sign up bonus and then product change into the cash back or Citi ThankYou point earning card.
Feel free to share any other variations of this offer you received in the comments. If you don’t regularly receive spending offers and already have this card, try to put some spend on the card and that should trigger getting these offers (and then you’ll want to put spend on the card anyway triggering even more future offers).

sears simply declared another round of store closings. I think about to what extent this card will be near. Expectation they allow us to item change into another Citi card when the time seeks it to go bye
I just received an offer of 10X for gas, grocery, and restaurants:
“For total eligible purchases of $2,000 or more made each month 7/1/2018 – 9/30/2018 up to a total of 30,000 Bonus Points each month.“
Does anyone know what counts for Travel which can be MSed? I assumed whatever counts as Travel for Citi Prestige would be the same here too.
It seems like Sears/Citi is sending out personalized offers to customers based on their spending patterns. I’ve enrolled in a few of these Sears/Citi TYP over the last couple years. I have noticed with each offer I receive and activate, that the spending requirement to earn the bonus points is higher than the last offer. They require that you activate the offer online or by phone.
The most recent offer received back in April is to earn 10X Thank You Points in certain categories – Gas, Groceries, Restaurants between April 1 – June 30, 2018. For example, spend $2000, get 20k bonus TYPs, spend $3000, get 30K bonus.
There is some fine print: Must spend at least $2000 total in those 3 categories in a calendar month to be eligible for the bonus points. Earn 30k maximum bonus points each month. Thus, potentially you could receive a total of 90K bonus points over the 3 month period
It’s a pretty big spending hurdle to jump, but I’ve managed to do it in April and May by topping off my spending each month to at least $2000 by buying gift cards at the the grocery stores.
The sign up bonus is not $150, but $20
Also got 5000 max for online. I assume paypal (kiva payment) would work?

My offer is 10X bonus TYPs (up to a total of 7,500 points) when you spend $500 or more on eligible ONLINE purchases. I am so glad they automatically converted my card from earning SYW points to TYPs a couple of years ago.
Sears just announced another round of store closings. I wonder how long this card will be around. Hope they give us the chance to product change into another Citi card when the time comes for it to go bye bye.
Not sure, but Citi just extended the sears credit card contract for 200 million until 2020 so I think you’ll be OK.
