Our Verdict

This is a fantastic offer, we’ve been seeing a lot more of these great offers on store cards recently (Banana Republic offered 10x with no cap). Most people don’t give store cards much of a thought because their rewards programs are often lacking and they have virtually no sign up bonuses, but I know a lot of people (myself included) have a few because these deals tend to pop up from time to time.

Obviously if you can max this deal out you’d earn $400 (minus any fees you incur) which is as good as or better than a sign up bonus. The problem is you never know when deals are going to strike or if you’re going to be targeted.

I received a $100 credit last week as well, but was expecting about $130. From what I could tell, the maximum statement credit was for $100 each month, but perhaps the wording is indicating the max they’ll credit in one month is $100?

Mine was $100 for “Aug-Sept Gas, Grocery, Dining Promo.” Did yours say something similar? I was expecting to see more than $100 for both months combined.

I have this offer and gave it a try. Just looked at my Sept closing closing statement and there is nothing about the points. Went on-line to check the points…. Nothing showed up. I gave them a call and they read me the other fine print that I hadn’t noticed in the offer e-mail.

“Please allow 4 – 8 weeks after the end of the promotional period for the statement credit to be added to your account.”

So they are telling me that no points will show on-line until sometime around Feb’16 or Mar’16! While I don’t want to give up the 10%, but should I just trust these guys to follow through? Anyone else have any experience with this type of offer?

That is common for extra points not to be added till a few months later.

Not familiar with the value of these points. Can you exchange the points for a statement credit at a 1:1 exchange rate?

I have this card, but the only offers I ever get are for spending at Sears. I wish there was a way to move the credit line to another Citi card.

You don’t…The Sears Choice points are earned if you have their credit card. SYW points are another program
