[Targeted] Marriott: 20% Discount On Giftcards

The Offer

No direct link to offer, sent out via e-mail. Subject line is unknown

  • Marriott is offering a 20% discount on gift cards

The Fine Print

  • Valid until 6/10/22

Our Verdict

Marriott processes their own gift cards and these purchases trigger the Marriott Brilliant $300 credit. These are profitable for resale for some as well.

I’m guessing one would get this offer if one would create a new Bonvoy account.

This article could be summed up as
“You might have an email from Marriott.”

As if no one can take advantage, and you have no screenshots, this is a bit of a nothing burger.

Does anyone think this will this work with the AMEX 20% offer to get a compound 36% off – Get a one-time $50 statement credit by using your enrolled eligible Card to spend a minimum of $250 USD in one or more purchases on room rate and room charges when you pay for your stay at participating properties in the Marriott Bonvoy® portfolio from 4/15/2022 to 6/30/2022.

Heads up that these are a PITA to use.

Reception/ front desk rarely knows how to process them, and they don’t work on certain advanced bookings in my experience.

You have been warned.

These are MUCH easier than their old gift certificates used to be. Those were the true pain in the arse.

Yup. Just had this experience. The manager was all “I’ve never seen a gift card in all the years I’ve worked at Marriott.” Rather frustrating.

They’re a lot more common now that they use them sometimes as signup incentives for the credit cards, I haven’t had a problem using them at the 3 properties I’ve been at.

Can it be used with the Amex offer $50 back on $250 spend?
