Reader @capcalhoon got this on the Travel Rewards card and reader JJ on the Customized Cash Rewards card. I’m not sure how widely this offer was sent out.
On almost any card this would be a terrific deal, e.g. on the Travel Rewards card this can amount to 3.5x everywhere, or 4.62x (2.62 + 2 bonus) everywhere for someone who has top Preferred Rewards status (possibly even 6.13x everywhere if the bonus gets multiplied by the status bonus).
Note, the fine print mentions the possibility of receiving a 1099 for the bonus. Typically credit card rewards are not taxable, but it’s possible they’ll treat a bonus differently (though I wouldn’t be surprised if they in fact do not send out a 1099 for the bonus).
I got this and really good deal. Been using since July on almost everything. Works out to 3.65% for me (1.5% *1.1 checking account customer bonus) +2%. I’m going to pay a $6,000 property tax bill with it because the bonus exceeds the 2.5% fee the county charges me and going to net around $90 back. The no limit or category rules is what makes it great. $27 back on Home Insurance bill. I got a paper letter only for it.
For your $6000 bill, I would apply for a new card, e.g., Chase Ink Unlimited with 90K bonus would net you $840.
I got this offer for an unused CCR in the mail. “Automatically earn an additional 2% cash back.” Sounds like this card is now a 5, 4, 3 card vs 3, 2, 1 if each category is indeed an additional 2%. No way to test it out either as the rewards are given at end of the promotion (Dec 31) and up to 12 weeks from that.
Side note, I was previously targeted for converting a CCR into a UCR offer, 200 after 1000. Keep ’em coming BofA.
It seems I did not get an email but I got a letter for extra 2%. Cant wait to test it out and to confirm.
Just checked a transaction from reward page for Travel Reward, and can confirm it’s (1.5xPR) + 2 = up to 4.63% on everything!
I swear to God I received the offer on my customized cash rewards card. But now I couldn’t find the email. Is there a way to confirm my offer?
Got it on my Alaska card that historically has zero spend. Did not get it on my Premium Rewards card that I routinely put $1 million annually on (2.625% cash back can’t be beat!).
With 3 Alaska points per dollar for everyday spend, this will be my new go to card this year. Glad there is no cap on earnings! 😉
Showed up on a BoA Cash Rewards card. Final cash back is 5.25% (plat honors in a 3% category) + 2% = 7.25%
I got a Travel Reward Card and this offer. I am platinum honors level. Is it (1.5+2)xPreferred Rewards or (1.5xPR)+2 ?
