Our Verdict

Sorry about the title, it’s a bit of a mouthful. Chase only yesterday pulled the authorized user bonus on the public version of this bonus, that bonus is also only 50,000 points. That being said we did see a bonus of up to 80,000 points earlier in the year. That being said these selected for you offers do by pass 5/24. My general rule is that if you see one of these, or an in branch pre-approval that you should just apply for it if you’re eligible and have given up staying under 5/24 as it’s unlikely you’ll get a better offer anytime soon and it can always be removed from you. As always if you have any questions about Chase cards, please read this post first.

I have been waiting to come under 5/24 to to get a CSP. Finally I became 4/24 in May 2018. Applied for CSP but declined. Looks like I am done with Chase. not gonna keep myself on 4/24 now. Details below:

– I opened a CSP on in Feb 2016 and changed it to CS in Apr 2018.
– Applied for CSP Aug 2018 but was declined as I had a CS. (My mistake I did not check the CS Card family restriction).
– I changed CS to FU and then reapplied for CSP after 3 days. Again declined saying I still have CS. (I thought it showing FU in my accounts, it must have changed in their systems also – wrong assumption)
– Then I applied for British Airways 100k Avios card. Declined saying I applied too many times in last 30 days.

My mistakes and learning…
– I got Amex SPG Lux in the sweet window of 8/23 and 8/26 as I have Chase Marriott this will make me 5/24 when Amex SPG Lux is posted on my credit history. I was too desperate to get a chase card while I was still 4/24 in records, but that costed me an opportunity. should have researched properly before applying. Should have played safe and should have applied for Avois card in the first attempt itself.

If recently applied and approved for the CSP card less than two months ago with 50k bonus and just today hit the minimum spend, would it be a good idea to SM Chase and try to get matched to this 65k offer (ike with Citi AA cards recently). Is Chase usually as generous as Citi has been?

William Charles hey I went for it and they said to send in a screenshot of the email or banner showing the offer and that it was addressed to me. I sent a the pic from this post above and said that’s all I had and they approved it and added 10k more points to my account! So anyone who recently got this card it’s worth a shot!

William Charles also I just checked and the points posted immediately! #optimism

They just approved the match after 3 emails. First reply asked for a a screenshot which i also used the one from here ( thank u doc!). Second reply says i wasn’t targeted. So i sent the third email in reply to their first request and this time it worked. The 10k points has already showed up.

Tried the same approach as Lily & Devvon, no luck it seems. Rep replied reiterating the requirement for the unique code, or offer with my name attached.

It looks like this offer is targeted to Chase Private Clients only – which makes sense. I asked about a match and was told: “the requests for richer premium will be honored for Chase Private Client (CPC) customers.”

Had it be a public offer I would be just within the time frame to get the match. :/

If you have a “Chase for Business” account, how do you switch it to personal so you can check personal card offers?

You have to have 2 separate logins. If you call Chase their IT group can do it.

I get offers for mortgages on my merged Biz account. Is there really any value in having them separate?

I have separate logins for my personal and business cards and always receive the same offers (business & personal) on both logins.

I’ve been wanting to get a CSP for my wife. She only has one Chase card – the Freedom card – so I checked her account. No offers. Checked her Chase Credit Journey and it shows she is at 6/24! Uh, no! Checked TransUnion and Equifax through Credit Karma and she is only 4/24 INCLUDING closed and AU accounts. Experian shows the same.

What gives with Chase Credit Journey? If their info is so wrong, what good is it?

Chase Journey shows loans also as credit cards, check if that is the case.

Hmm. I haven’t seen any data points on that before. Is that something new? CCJ was accurate with my credit card count when I went 4/24 and got approved for the CSR and the CFU in the same week.

Factoring in loans would bring her to 6/24 (1 new auto loan and 1 new mortgage loan). But, they still don’t count towards credit card approvals, right? Or has Chase changed that, too?

Loans show up as “New Accounts” but no they don’t count towards 5/24 Status.

I sure thought that every post on every blog about Chase Credit Journey I’d ever read said the “Opened Accounts (Last 2 years)” was credit cards only.

I guess I was mistaken. Thanks.

Do paper in-your-mailbox apps bypass 5/24?

I never ever get any of the ‘selected for you’ offers. Am I somehow opted out? I just find it weird I have never see any for any card and I’m a long time, normal Chase customer. Does anyone know how to make sure you’re opted in?

Zip, zilch, notta. I’m about to close my checking accounts with them because I’m sick of trying to maintain a relationship with a bank that doesn’t want me to churn any more of their sign up bonuses 🙁

I did not get this under, “selected for you” offers.
However, I did get an offer for a CSP with 50,000 bonus points, plus 5,000 AU bonus points, with 24 month language, under my pre qualified offers.

Where do you find “pre-qualified” offers? Isn’t that the same as “selected for you”?

Sam

In the app where they advertise their products, I clicked on, “check for prequalified offers.” (It came up then)
It took me to the chase website where I had to fill in my info. It then showed that I’m prequalified for the csp and both freedoms, none with a green check.
Afterward I checked my “selected for you” offers and didn’t have any cc offer show up with the green check. (Only offers to upgrade to cpc, get a mortgage etc.)

Basically they’re not the same.

I checked my pre-qualified offers again, and it’s now showing 48 month language with no AU bonus.

Did not receive the offer, but had invitation to upgrade to Private Client (despite having only minimum in account), so I assume many people get this.

I have not churned Chase cards & only have 2 open, 1 closed.

I wonder who they target for this offer?

The Private Client “offer” still has the minimum $250k requirement
