Our Verdict

Remember crypto trading is very volatile and you could suffer large losses on any open crypto positions.

For existing users, seems like a nice deal – a $50 trading bonus.  One that should be approximately convertible to cash minus two trading fees [a buy and a sell].

For new users, you may want to consider the Tastyworks Brokerage Bonus instead (or possibly first).

Has anyone churned this more than once with Tastyworks? Davis gadget

I did it twice already and now planning to close the account and wondering about opening it again?

Davis gadget I tried churning it again under a new e-mail address, etc. but Tastyworks told me that I need to use my old e-mail / username.. so I guess that means there is no way to churn it anymore.

I guess trading is not needed. If I deposit $2K in my new Tastyworks account and keep them as it is (without any trade) for 3 months, I should be eligible for a $200 crypto bonus and then can withdraw entire funds after 90 days, right? Correct me please if I am wrong.

I’m curious about tax implications of bonuses paid in crypto. I know that crypto gains are only taxed when sold (or losses, with the associated write-off). Is the initial $200 taxable as if it were paid in dollars, and then the gain or loss separately when sold?

Crypto gains/losses from trades are given the same tax treatment as capital gains are.

If you get a $200 airdrop, then your basis would be $200, but it would be taxed as ordinary income just like if a bank paid you a $200 signup bonus in fiat.

Don’t do deals where you have to put significant capital compared to reward with companies that named like tasty works.

Just because you’ve never heard of the company doesn’t mean it’s iligitimate. I’ve been trading with tasty for over 2 years. IMO, it’s the Best retail options trading platform.

You wouldn’t be doing the deal if 2k wasn’t significant capital.

If you can’t stomach the risk, then this deal obviously isn’t for you.

I’m here trying to inform and help others. I didn’t post in order to trigger your hyper insecurity toward your financial decisions.

Ah, yes. Someone with zero experience trading crypto is trying to help others by telling them how risky and unprotected it is. Thanks for pasting words you copied off of a search engine. I think the hyper insecure one is you.
