American Express/Delta have sent out a lot of targeted offers for the Gold Delta SkyMiles Credit Card from American Express. Before we get started it’s important to note that the best public offer on this card previously was 50,000 points + $100 statement credit. Let’s also take a look at the card details that are the same on both offers before digging into the offers themselves
Card Benefits
- Card earns at the following rates:
- 2x miles on all purchases made directly with Delta
- 1x miles on all other purchases
- No foreign transaction fees
- Annual fee of $95 is waived the first year
- You cannot get the bonus on the cards if you’ve ever had the card before
There are two different offers that have been sent out, let’s take a look at both of them:
60,000 Points + $50
This offer gives you 60,000 miles after $1,000 in spend within the first three months of card membership. You also get a $50 statement credit when you make your first Delta purchase.

Our Verdict
I think the 60k + $50 offer is significantly better than the 50k + gold status offer, gold status is only Delta’s second tier and the benefits aren’t that great. Personally I’d prefer even the recent public offer of 50k + $100 over the gold status. But I personally find most status’ most useless and think of chasing status as a away of throwing money away.
