I got Weird experience with this bank. They are not honoring me Bonus though its legitimate Deposits from Business a/c. After 4-5 months of fulfilling all of my requirements & after repetitive contact to them, initially they said wait for 90 days after fulfilling requirements & then they said they are checking on their side, then sending them all required proof information to them, now I received their final answer below.
“when reviewing the deposits from your business bank ac they are coded as external transfers and have a description of DDA to DDA. They are not coded as payroll deposits; therefore, they do not qualify for the $1500 deposit requirement.”
This is the T & C given in their promotion page :
I also didn’t received my referral bonus also….
Will call them for the last time & ask them for CPFB.
And finally have to file with CPFB.
(HUh…..it’s all time consuming, for no reason)

2/28 – opened, card funding didn’t go through.
3/1 – Zelled in $25 since I saw something about a minimum opening deposit
3/14 – 4/11 – $1505 total real DD
All debit spending was just loading to PayPal balance
4/15 – 1500th dollar spent
4/19 – $300 received
3/27 – registered for the $50 refer a friend from one of the posters below. Removed Transunion credit freeze and applied for the checking account. Approved and funded with $25 from Chase debit card.
3/27 – opened personal Wise account and transferred $1,530 to Wise from UFB HYSA. It seems other people who have used Wise have actual business accounts, but I can report success with the personal account.
4/2 – pushed $1,527.62 from Wise to Broadway checking with “Payroll” as the note/reference comment. Overall the Wise transactions cost me $2.38 in fees but worth it to successfully fake payroll direct deposit.
4/5 – received debit card and added to PayPal wallet.
4/5 – used PayPal Bill Pay to pay $1,527.62 total on Citi credit card, Discover credit card, and Harbor Freight credit card (note about Bill Pay – these payments didn’t actually post to my cards for a full week despite PayPal saying it would be 2 days).
4/12 – $300 bonus received
Posting my $50 refer-a-friend if any of the above is helpful. Remember, you must register here first before opening your Broadway account, and then after the Broadway account is opened you also need to enroll in e-statements to qualify for this extra $50 bonus.

Funding with credit card does not work, or will post as cash advance.
Citi and BOA cards declined ($0 cash advance limit).

Thank you
500 funding with Chase INK went through as purchase just fine
Update: no it didn’t! Got hit with 25 dollar transaction fee
Straightforward online application process. Must completely remove Transunion freeze (temporarily lifting isn’t enough!). Account funding using bank transfer required an extra step, had to verify trial deposits through the page that shows all external accounts.
When I previously tried to apply last year, application was blocked on entering zip code that was several hours away from closest branch. Seems the location restriction is now removed.

Did you do true payroll deposits? What were your debit spends?
I just opened my account last week. Will be using real deposit and figure out how to use Bill Pay. Didn’t look like there was any good DPs for alternative DDs
I opened my account two weeks ago. I pushed a “payroll” deposit from Wise (there was at least one DP I saw that stated it worked for this bank). I then used PayPall Bill Pay for the first time ever to pay my Citi Mastercard, Harbor Freight credit card, and Discover card. Just a heads up on Bill Pay – even though PayPal debited the money from my debit card immediately, it took a full week to actually post to the accounts. Still no Broadway bonus as of yet.

Is there any upside to keeping this account open after 3 to 6 months?
Comes to branch today and told you have to have green card or is citizen to open an account.
Tried applying with TU completely unfrozen and Chex temp lifted. Got denied:
We are sorry but we are unable to accommodate your request for a deposit product with our institution at this time. Our decision was based in whole or in part on information obtained in a report from the
consumer reporting agency listed below… etc etc.
Transunion was listed. I’ll admit that I’ve “abused” my credit report in the past few months and my TU FICO is on the lower end at 720-ish (FICO). I also have a decent number of inquiries since I was shopping for mortgages a few months ago, but that shouldn’t be a reason to deny a deposit account…? lol
