maybe I should have pushed the issue, but CSR today said they no longer accept “credit” cards, only debit for account opening-odd. Did any of you fund AFTER initial account setup?? TIA

What really gets me is it seems quite a few OOS have been successful. I’m actually right here in the same town and can’t get this right; went to a branch today as directed by CSR, because online wasn’t working with funding; I had sent them the information they asked for, an email & 2 secure messages via link sent to my email w/ ref #…the local branch didn’t seem comfortable that my physical address, in same town, was far away from their branch, told them that this location is closer to work; Even though they had the application ref# and my SS, couldn’t find me in their system…then said they show no promos even digital and asked me for a copy of my letter and tried to explain it to them and they said sorry, so after 3 calls, messages,driving=zilch.
Ps online says you can use other forms of ID like military and they said it wouldn’t take, had to be drivers license and of course they wanted a TX DL; then I would have to provide recurring proof of physical address, eg lease agreement, utility bills. If I didn’t know any better, I think these guys were a brand new Fintech start up.

There is no exclusionary language as far as I see. Secret terms and conditions are not valid, generally speaking. They need to write that down. It is plainly available when I search it on Google.

Not that I would try this bonus knowing that.

The fine print at the bottom of the page says:

“Offer limited to residents of San Antonio TX, Houston TX, New Orleans LA, and surrounding areas. Minors, business entities, and Credit Human employees are not eligible.”

Credit Human is not registered in LA so I am unable to send a demand without serving them in branch.

If they wish to spend their advertising dollars on non-qualified customer click-throughs, that’s their problem. You are still responsible for knowing what you are signing up for and the rules at the time you sign up.

And. just to be clear… yes, this offer was potentially nationwide, until September of this year. My P1 & P2 got the bonus earlier this year from Virginia. So, if you get a time machine and go back, you could sign up and use the older terms.

Still have yet to receive my bonus. I opened my account on the last day of the promotion during July. Submitted my application on July 14th, but my account wasn’t opened until the 18th. I confirmed with a rep the day I submitted my application that I would still be eligible for the promotion. I’ve called twice, and so far reps have just told me to wait a little longer. The last rep I talked to said I should call back on Friday if I still haven’t received it, and they would help me file a report to get the bonus.

Made a guess based on comments below and clicked through links on their site to apply (not via DoC link) and successfully manually applied code Fall23 (e.g. Summer23 errored out as expired). The promo code showed on submission page (no promo field is visible via DoC link). I received an internal message that the code had expired and asking if I wished to proceed. At the same time I received an ID verification email confirming they pull Equifax and ChexSystems (they asked me to unfreeze both though neither was frozen).

The code clearly had not expired and this is a Sunday, so they seem to be running some other check (address in service area?). I have a screenshot showing the accepted code so I could press the issue but probably will not since I’m several hours from any of their service areas.

Messaged them back telling them as much and just linking them to the promo page being active and live offer open to all. Should be OK

Update: logged in to application center link they communicated to me through to find my app has been “canceled.”

Pretty sure I’m in the footprint. I’ll give it another go with latest promo code.

Also got another message asking for address confirmation in form of utility bill etc.,even though app shows as canceled

Although a c/s rep confirmed that there was a promo code attached to my account, I was later denied and told there was none.

I filed a complaint with the NCUA (Nat’l Credit Union Admin.) at the link below, CFPB will just forward your complaint to them. Also, I filed with the BBB too. Their boilerplate response was that they will resolve the issue with the customer.
