The Offer

Direct link to offer

  • U.S. Bank is offering a bonus of up to $900 on the U.S. Bank Business Leverage Visa Card. Bonus is broken down as follows:
    • Earn $750 in rewards after spending $7,500 in eligible purchases within four months of account opening
    • Bonus points depending on how many medals team USA wins:
      • 0-35 medals: Earn an additional $75 bonus
      • 36+ medals: Earn an additional $150 bonus

Card Details

  • Annual fee of $95 waived first year, employee cards are free
  • Card earns 2x points per $1 spent made in the top two categories where you spend the most each month, 1x points on all other purchases
  • Points don’t transfer to Flexperks or Altitude. Minimum redemption for statement credit is 5,000

Our Verdict

This is similar to the Altitude Connect bonus in that it is tied to the winter Olympics. Doubtful if team USA will hit the 36 medals required, but can wait until close to the end of the Olympics before applying. There has been a targeted bonus of $900. . U.S. Bank business cards do not report to your personal report, so good for those staying under 5/24.

spent 7500 within 3 months, but on the newest statement, there was only points from real expense, no 75K bonus points yet. Do I have to wait for another billing cycle?

called and was told authorized user spending does not count towards 7500; I still need to spend 2800 in a few days
I will give it up and learn a lesson
The first time to learn authorized spending does not count

Should’ve asked for an extension as a last resort.

Met MSR by end of 4th statement (about 3.5 months)…how long does it take for bonus to post? It’s been over a week and just the normal monthly has posted.

The Olympics medals promotion is no longer available. SUB is currently $750.

Regarding the missing $75 reward promotion, I just called to talk to a CSR and she submitted a ticket internally to the marketing team. She said I would hear something back in the next 5-7 business days. I’m surprised US Bank messed this up so badly. There shouldn’t be a delay in getting all of the points posted to the account at the same time. Will provide an update when available. Hopefully I don’t have to wait an entire monthly cycle for them to post.

US Bank is usually good about posting SUBs. I am also surprised they messed up on this. I applied before Feb 21, 2022, but my application was approved after Feb 20, 2022. Do you know if this $75 bonus only good if approved before Feb 21, 2022? Or applied before Feb 21, 2022?

I spoke to a CSR today who confirmed that the 7500 points for the Team USA Olympics promotion will be paid out on the next billing cycle.

DP: Opened Jan 25, met MSR as of statement close 3/21. Was granted 75k points for “Business Leverage 75K spend bonus”, but no sign of the additional 7,500 for the medals. Do they typically post separately?

While I’m asking, what’s the best way to redeem these? I see people in the past referencing 1.5 cpp value for travel, but I don’t seem to have that on my travel portal. I also don’t see any way to pool points. Is cash @ 1 cpp the best use of these points?

I wish we could get 1.5 cpp as I am only seeing 1.0 cpp value for air travel. I tested it by making a mock booking but I do not yet have enough points. It told me my flight would be $94 or 6,123 Points + $33. Well $94 – $33 = $61. But, unfortunately 6,123 * 0.01 = $61.23 which is only 1 cpp (not sure why they wanted the extra 123 points).

Same situation here. Got the 75K, but no additional 7500. Has anyone figured this out yet?

I don’t know, tbh. I’m wondering the same thing. I know gc’s are an issue on altitude but can’t find anything on this card.

Is this card “business” friendly? Do I need a checking account with them?
