  • Please note split fare rides do not count as a ride for purposes of this offer.

Our Verdict

SYWR points are good for Sears/Kmart. Previously they were offering $2 in points, so they are just doubling that for the duration of this promotion. You might also be able to get an additional $1 cash back per ride with Ibotta. Both should work when using your American Express Platinum credits as well. I’m not sure if using Uber Plus passes will trigger the $4 in points or not (update: does work). This should help people to discount their Uber rides.

Does Uberpool count as a ride or only solo Uber rides?

    • Vince Moore says:

      Uberpool counts as a ride

      • brent says:

They typically do count, but according to their support (when they don’t post) they will say Uber Pools do not count. This is a great combo with the Ibotta that gives $1 back each ride and the Uber ride pass. Then further stack when you buy Uber gift cards for 10% off when they have the sale via eBay. At some point each ride I was taking I was making a profit in rewards.

    double dip with SPG?

  3. brent says:

Ride pass has worked for me. Earned $100 in points last month.

  4. Rexx says:

This used to be my favorite rewards system. Sears had free shipping and I ubered enough to get something for free every month. But when they added the 30 dollar minimum for free shipping, and I stopped ubering at least weekly, it became more of a pain in the butt. Now it’s sort of like store rewards, nice if I can strategise, but I’ve let points expire rather than pay to redeem them.

What’s a good way to burn SYW points? I see it excludes food unfortunately, and I don’t really need any cheap K-mart crap.

Is anyone else seeing the referral offer?
Earn $2 CASHBACK in points for every rider who connects Uber and Shop Your Way accounts using your referral code or unique URL.

So if you’re 2 player mode you can get $6 per ride?

  7. B says:

Is anybody actually seeing the $4 per ride? My points from my rides yesterday posted, but it was still just $2 per ride.

  8. Carl says:

I used Lisa’s link. If this is working as a referral conga, here’s mine: [link removed. I’m not sure why you thought it was acceptable to share your link here. Read the rules.]

Just realized this post was attributed to Jon and Ben, and I’m currently in their workshop. Love that.

My husband commutes by Uber and this has been a freaking bonanza, especially this summer with the shortlived SYWEverywhere portal. This summer we did a kitchen renovation and the microwave and dishwasher were FREE (FYI SYWR are redeemable at Sears Outlets) and the range and fridge were heavily discounted. Other non-crap stuff we’ve “bought” for those looking to burn points.

-Lands’ end accepts SYWR as payment and their clothes are very sturdy, albeit cut large
    -Keekaroo height right high chair
    -Pyrex glass containers
    -Evenflo glass baby bottles
    -Knitter’s Pride knitting needles
    -Melissa and Doug toys
    -Carter’s brand baby/toddler clothing
    -Children’s board books
    -Crayola products
    -Learning Resources toys
    -Board games

From what I can tell, they’ve been losing vendors. Everything by Dorel (kids’ furniture manufacturer) vanished for a while. I got a really nice organic crib mattress, but they don’t carry that line any more, etc. I don’t know how long the bonanza will last, but I’ve got half a closet of toys stashed for my children for the coming winter and holidays.

  10. Benjamin says:

How long should it take to post?

  11. TravelerMSY says:

Rides paid with GC don’t seem to trigger the credit.

  12. yu says:

Any data point on whether paying by giftcard will trigger the shopyourway $4 points?

  13. TravelerMSY says:

I got an email from them saying that linking wasn’t working with an invitation to try again, so my previous DP about rides paid with gc might not be valid.
