The Offer
- Numerica Credit Union is offering a $300 bonus when you open a new checking account and complete the following requirements:
- Use promo code MACQ0125
- Complete one or both of the following:
- Meet Bonus Checking account qualifiers for two consecutive monthly qualification cycles: (a) make 12 transactions of $5 or more that settle to your account using your Numerica Visa debit or credit card, and (b) receive your statements electronically (eStatements).
- And/or make a minimum of one direct deposit per month for two consecutive months totaling $500 or more. Direct deposits need to be an electronic deposit of your paycheck, pension, or government benefits (such as Social Security) from your employer or the government. Person-to-person payments (PayPal, Venmo, Zelle, etc.) are not considered a direct deposit
The Fine Print
- *To receive the $200 bonus, you must:
- (a) Open a Bonus Checking account by Dec. 31, 2024, using promo code MACQ0624.
- (b) Set up a recurring deposit to your new Bonus Checking account within 30 days of account opening.
- The second instance of your recurring deposit activates the bonus. A $200 deposit will be made to your Bonus Checking account the day following the second deposit. Existing Numerica members do not qualify for the $200 bonus. You must qualify for membership. Limit one $200 bonus per individual (based on Social Security Number).
- All bank account bonuses are treated as income/interest and as such you have to pay taxes on them
Avoiding Fees
Monthly Fees
This account has no monthly fees to worry about.
Early Account Termination Fee
I wasn’t able to find any early closure fee in the fee schedule.
Our Verdict
Looks like opening out of state does work, unclear if the bonus will pay out. Worth doing as no direct deposit is required, I suspect this will be shut down quickly if out of state does work though.

So the terms are updated? I don’t see the requirement or even mention of direct deposit for the bonus. Chex unfrozen > approved instantly.
This bank is so bad! I messaged them last month and they said I met the deposit requirements and should get my bonus next month. I wait. Nothing. I contact again. They said I didn’t meet the requirements for the deposit and the 12 transactions. I tell them I joined before the requirements changed and I don’t need the 12 transactions and I post the old terms (thanks for whoever provided that link!). Then they are like ok well you don’t meet the deposit requirements. It’s two consecutive months but the first month does not count. I was like the terms does NOT say the first month does not count! They are trying everything to not pay this!
$300 posted today.
Did you do debit txn, direct deposit, or both?
real work DD
what is your timeline of actions? I opened Feb 10th and dd Feb 24 and Mar 3 and no bonus yet.
My second month of DD posted on 3/10.
Applied OOS w/ relative as qualifier but details weren’t requested; denied for Chex pretty soon after applying
Does anyone have a DP whether amazon $5.xx transactions count as card usage? They coded kinda strange for me so I’m considering using a fake DD.
example:
Withdrawal Debit Card Debit Card, Amazon.com
I made several other types of purchases and they all say Withdrawal Debit Card. That said, I don’t have my bonus yet, so fingers crossed.
I opened this account before they removed the direct debit option. Will I receive the bonus even though my bonus period ends after they have already removed this bonus trigger?
Has anyone recently received the $300 bonus from Numerica?
I never received it with real direct deposit.
I believe this was a hard pull! When I opened my account, my credit score was impacted. In addition, a support agent verbally noted to me that they could see that I had opened several accounts, inquiring as to why. Was still able to open an account but had to do a video call.
They’ve now removed the second condition to get the bonus (the direct debits).
THIS IS CORRECT! I just verified this with a support agent.
Has anyone that applied while DD was an option received bonus?
Waiting here for 60 already..
Hey!
Idahoan
Didn’t see your comment. I’m still in the process right now (in my second month now). During the first month, the DD option was applied and I believe that I qualified during that month but I’m not sure.
During this month (2nd), I had to do the 12 $5 debit card transactions, which I just did w/ Robinhood back and forth, which successfully completed that requirement.
So, to answer your question, I’ve been hit by a hybrid version, whereas it sounds like you might have exclusely had the DD option. Did you eventually get paid?
And please @ me next time, so I get a notification. 🙂
Anyone receive their bonus yet? It says it posts “the day following the bonus”. My second real DD posted on 3/10 and nothing yet. Scrolling thru the comments it looks like it did post the day after for most folks last time this bonus was offered.
I had DD’s the 7th and ~21st. Still waiting.
Update?
I am thinking the soonest I get the bonus is May 10 based on this: “The $300 bonus will be deposited by the 10th of the month following three full calendar months after the account opening date, provided qualifications are met.”
Nothing so far. Its a weekend though. Waiting until Monday and will follow up if nothing is deposited.
Same, nothing today. I will wait until Tuesday.
From Numerica: You opened the account in February. Meaning you got the full 3 months March, April, May to complete the qualifiers. Meaning you would get your bonus after June 10th. I hope that helps!
The $300 bonus will be deposited by the 10th of the month following three full calendar months after the account opening date if the qualifiers are met.

I also opened my account in February and just chatted with a representative. They tried to tell me I didn’t qualify because I only did the direct deposits, so I used the wayback machine to pull up the terms from February and they said I would receive my bonus on 06/10.
I have never used the wayback machine, just tried and I think I am stupid. Can you link the info you found? I fear they will do the same to me.
Never mind, figured it out.
In case it helps anyone else, here’s the saved snapshot from 03/31/2025 showing the old terms https://web.archive.org/web/20250331231530/https://www.numericacu.com/300
Bonus showed up today! Overall this CU was super annoying. Not only did they try to weasel out of giving me my bonus, but I also have to physically call them to set up external transfers so I can move my money out of here. Not worth the hassle imo.
Bonus posted on 6/7.
I did a DD Feb 20th and another March 5th. Should this qualify for the bonus?
Says in the fine print:
“The $300 bonus will be deposited by the 10th of the month following three full calendar months after the account opening date, provided qualifications are met.”
